My cabinets are painted the same creamy white inside.

Mine are white inside also.

Mine are white/cream outside and finished clear maple inside. I really like the contrast, especially with glass-front cabs. We have an exposed beam and some other unpainted wood accents though, so having unpainted interiors sort of picks up on those.

My creamy white cabinets are sealed maple on the inside. What I found researching cabinets was that the finishing on the inside of the cabinets depended on the composition of the cabinets. For example, real wood plywood boxes had sealed wood interiors. MDF boxes were painted on the inside. Thermofoil cabinets had white melamine insides. I did encounter a few wood plywood boxes with either wood or white melamine interiors. So, I would say that if the interior of your cabinets is real wood, just seal it and be done!

We had maple cabinets that were sealed clear on the inside and I painted green on the outside. The glass fronted cabinets were left bare because I painted the bead board back and insides of them the cream color of the beadboad backsplash.

I have no glass doors in my kit with red cabs. The inside is clear coat finish. I figured less likely to show if they get scratched up inside.

If it matters any, the insides of my cabinets and the pullouts are birch plywood.

I have painted maple cabinets with plywood cabinet boxes. The interiors of my cabinets are painted as well (creamy white).

I used to live in an apartment with old white painted cabinets. The insides were painted white -- probably always had been.

I moved into a house with really ugly formica/melamine cabinets. I painted the outsides green and took the doors off. They looked terrible until I painted the insides green too.

You don't say what color yours are painted, but I like a cabinet painted on the inside. In the case of white, the light background makes things easy to find.

If you're dealing with another color, painting the insides a contrasting color, or, as borngrace did, painting just the back and leaving the rest wood can look spectacular.

I have even found old cabinets lined with wallpaper.

There are really a lot of choices. It depends on what your style is.

Our birch plywood cabinets have a clear finish on the inside...The same for the ones that have painted doors and the ones that have clear finished fir doors. I think they're gorgeous and will stay looking nicer than if painted. Also, some of my painted cabinets are burgundy, so I don't think I'd want them that dark inside.

My doors are painted inside and out but the insides of the boxes are a maple simulate.

In a cabinet that will have a glass door it was quite jarring so I wallpapered the inside.
