Pool in Houston area

I learned a lot from this forum, so I thought I would share my experience. Pool was dug on 10/16/09 and it began filling on 11/16/09. Very happy with the builder and the process. It is 735 sq. ft. with an infinity edge. I will post photos if someone will tell me how to do it.

Couple of easy steps
1) Open a free account on photobucket.com (there are other sites that allow picture storage but this one works great)
2) upload pictures to the site
3) copy the HTML Code (everything in the box)
Should start with "less than symbol ()"

4) paste into message
5) done, that easy

I called McK Pools twice to get an estimate to remodel my pool and they never returned my phone calls. Turned me away if that was the service from the get go. A&S was the original builder of our pool. We had plaster problems during the fisrt year and they never accepted responsibility for it.

I have read where people are really unhappy with their poolbuilders, but mine was great. Ocean Blue Pools built my pool in 2002 and it is still beautiful. When we decided to build, Ocean Blue Pools was definately not the cheapest but you definately get what you pay for. Our HOA was being difficult about our easement and OBP was great about working with them and coming up with a compromise. They were prompt about completion. Even with rain delays and neighbor issues they finished quickly with very little mess. When they finished they relandscaped the backyard and replanted trees we didn't want to loose in the front. Our neighbor was a little testy about the backhoe tracks between our houses and Baron found out he was about to buy a pallet of grass and gave him two pallets of grass as compensation for the inconvenience. We have had very few problems with our pool since it was built, but when we have called OBP with questions and concerns, they responded quickly and even came out to show me how to maintain the pool when our pool maintenance company walked off unexpectantly after 3 years. The key to having few issues with your pool is hiring a great company to maintain the pool. We started with a polaris pool cleaner, which was great, and lasted for 6 years. In the last year, we have been alternating between two Hayward pool cleaners. I will definately work on affording another polaris.

I met them at the Cy-Fair garden show and they seemed nice and had some decent pools. I ended up not getting a quote from them as I found a builder I liked and knew a few people who had a pool built by him so went that direction. I only got enough quotes to make sure I was getting a fair price. Sorry it's not much help. Good luck!

Well, webshots doesn't work. Isn't there a way to imbed a photo? my builder has some on photobucket. I'll ask her to send me some to post here

I am having a very tough time making a final decision on who to go with! Right now it is between Platinum Pools and Mike over at Gulf Coast Pool Co. in Richmond, TX. Has anyone heard anything on him?

Gulf Coast built my pool. I had David design my pool though. All being said they did a wonderful job. I think Mike was the one that was here every day during the build. I am not sure about Platinum though. I hear they build a good pool but I also know they are a chain pool company and I wanted someone a little more local. Good Luck with the pool

Thank you sweetnovember! What area of town are you in? What time of year did you build and about how long did it take? I do like the local factor which is why I went to them in the first place.
