Zephyr Hurricane - opinions?

New participant here but have been reading for a while...

I'm starting a "two phase" kitchen redo - first phase is painting cabinetry & some modifications, refinishing existing woodwork, wallpaper, crown moulding, adding some light fixtures, etc. The later phase will be the "big stuff" - new range and refrigerator, new countertops, etc.

I'm trying to arrange this so that what I do in Phase 1 will not have to be ripped out and replaced in Phase 2. I think the range hood has to be installed in Phase 1 because venting it will require a soffit, etc. that would affect the finishes and cabinetry.

I'm looking at the Zephyr Hurricane range hood - thinking down the road I'd like to buy a Blue Star range. Let's assume it would be a 30" RCS. Any thoughts on whether that hood would be adequate or a good choice? It is super noisy?

If it's not a good pick - any other suggestions? I'm trying to stay under $500.

The room is 17 x 17 so using a formula I found elsewhere (square footage of room times 2 - not sure how good that info is!) I think I need at least 600 cfm.

Thanks in advance for your help!
