Pink Floral Quilt

Why you should not sew when you are tired. The last row is suppossed to be in the middle. I even have them numbered lol!! It's an easy fix because it is in 2 parts. I want to quilt this in a QAYG then add the borders. I wish I had enough of the green to make a small border and then I am planning to applique flowers and vines on a cream border. My focus was on the quilting and not on the sewing.

But that's only one seam to rip out. It could be worse.

It's going to be lovely when you're done. I love your colors.

Musta been my night! I stopped at TJ Maxx on my home from work just to see if they may have something that would work and they did! I put a quilt & 2 shams on layaway in a modernish watercolor like paisley & floral print in fresh green, blue, coral, pink and orange as well as a magazine tote very similar to the folder leaning against the window in the pic. I'm going to dig out my black piano stool and see if painting it kelly green is an option and use it as a little side table. Looking at SW Dovetail SW 7018 for walls & Natural 7542 for trim.

ME TOO, what is pork n beans???? Karlene, taking something apart is right up there with cleaning house lol!! I enjoy making HSTs with the 8 at a time pattern - I don't care for the grid method at all. After seeing yous guys post pics of the 'Depression Block' it's on my list. The one I have enjoyed so far was Bonnie's different sizes of the Ohio Star - I used a large floral and white and it turned out very pretty. Why do we spend more time and make sure they are the best we can make them and then GIVE them away LOL?? Rosa

Thank you bunches Rosa. I hope you post a pic of your bluework for your snowman quilt, I would love to see that. I love handwork. Rosa you were blessed and very lucky to have a hope chest. We never had a hope chest growing up, but my dad's mom who passed in 2000 she had a massive hope chest - it was awesome and had wooden trays that sat inside the top of the chest and it was big enough to hold about 6 queen-size quilts. I was blessed with a son, but if I would have had a little girl I would have gotten her an oak or pine hope chest - my hubby is allergic to cedar so I can't have that in the house, even though it is good for keeping bugs and such away from things stored in a cedar chest. I don't remember what type of wood my late Grandmother's chest was made of. I think little girls should have a hope chest and that family needle art traditions should be passed on to younger generations. I agree Rosa, I think a hope chest is a really good idea. Too funny!! Sharon, you're right - we've all been there:) My favorite quilt teacher told me (more than once) that there wasn't a mistake that she hadn't already made --- at least twice!! LOL Comforting to know we're in good company:)

Oh yes, we've all done things like that. I used to get frustrated with my mistakes but now I just do as 'dian57' suggests..shake my head and roll my eyes and do repairs.

That's an unusual pattern and I like the colors. What's the pattern name?

It is hysterical!!!! I had each row labeled with little tags.I have been so focused on 'should I quilt it in 3 parts or 2, and how am I going to QAYG borders'. It really helps when you pay attention to what you are doing lol!!!!!
I left the center until last because it has so many flying geese and they are my least fav thing to make. I have tried the various fast flying (or easy) geese methods and they don't work well for me so I used the tradional 2&1/2x4&1/2 rectangle and the 2&1/2 corners. I have 4 ugly geese that I'll find a way to use in another scrappy quilt.
The pattern is 'Fractured Crystals' by Linda Ballard. She has plain borders but I want to try machine quilting using applique for the borders.
