Pictures please? Show me your paneled DW in inset cabinets?
Comments (23)@rkb21: The piece for the dishwasher is a little different than the rest of the toe kick. Our real toe kick is 3/4" x 4", but at the bottom of the dishwasher the black cover is 3" high, and then it sort of tilts back. I happen to have extra molding from the cabinets that was 3/4" x 3", so I had it cut to fit the width, and they had to bore out the back a little where the plastic screw caps are that hold the cover in place, and then we just velcro'd it to the black cover. You can see the seams where it meets the other toe kick, but it's better than seeing black. It seemed to me that a 4" toe kick might interfere with the function of the door, but I don't know that for sure. So far, we have been very happy with the KUDE48....no issues with the side vent causing condensation on the cabinet. @island: Thank you very much....our countertops are called "waterfall". I have a thread which follows my kitchen renovation from the beginning, and there are more pics in there of the countertops....see the link Here is a link that might be useful: Kitchen Renovation...See MoreShow me your counter overhang for seating
Comments (45)nellie820 Thanks! I am still working on my kitchen so I haven't posted yet. We still need to paint (any suggestions on colors is very welcome--I have 10 different swatches hanging in my kitchen right now!), change outlets (they are almond now so need to change to white), counter stools, accessories, new kitchen table and chairs and a banquette. I have posted a few pics lately asking for help with paint... but I still have a few months left before I post the finished project. If there area any other areas or angles you want to see just let me know:o). honey333-- I measured from the cabinet bases. From the cab base to the end of the drawer is just shy of 7/8". From the end of the cab base to the end of the drawer pull is: 1 5/8". It really doesn't seem like it is too much of an overhang I think because of the cab pulls. The only thing I may have done differently--but I am really nitpicking here--is on the island. On the cab side as I told you the overhang is 2". On the counter stool side, there is only a 1 1/4" overhang from the end of the apron. I don't notice it at all when in the kitchen but when I look at pics I notice the difference. I might have done a 2" OH on the counter stool side too just for symmetry sake (now my geeky science and math side is coming out:o)). Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions....See MorePlease help - Countertop overhang disaster!
Comments (25)they brought in the fridge side first, and i saw that it wasnt flush with the fridge panel AND it had a chip AND it had a square corner , so they brought it back to the truck. Then they immediately brought in the sink side, put it down and since i didnt see any chipping, i had them install it. I didnt measure the overhang! i assumed it would be "standard" - whatever measurement calculated by my KD for the fridge panel. (she has since told me that she based it on the "standard" overhang of 1 1/4.) HAD i known to check, believe me, i would have, but i just didnt think about it. the fridge slab was back in the truck and i just honestly didnt imagine it would be different. Now the sink slab is installed. With my sink, water dispenser, faucet , garbage disposal and dishwasher. How much of a problem will it be to pull it out? So far i have not heard from them today. I am letting my KD talk to them. These installers do work for all the quartz companies, you'd think they would want to keep their reputation intact. it has been FIVE WEEKS since templating!...See MorePlease post pictures of your counter-tops
