i finished (sandwiched, quilted and bound) 6 baby quilts(36X36)this month...one twin size flannel quilt(heavy),one 54"X54" quilt for my kiddo (he is using it as army base camp instead of a blanket)and two odd shaped couch/cuddle quilts one is called blue. the other is called green. and i finally bound my super awesome strip quilt.

now i have to get cutting for the art deco purple i need to make for end june and the swanky orange and lime wedding quilt for august and the plaid housewarming quilt for soon as well.

i have absolutely NO wip's. I have cleaned up and have no unfinished business. luckily cause silly season is here. busy busy busy. soccer, hockey, paddling, swimming, cycling and gardening too.

I started and finished a purse on Mother's Day and this past week I machine quilted a flannel baby quilt. Today I sandwiched another baby quilt and hope to quilt it sometime during the weekend or next week. Still 2 more baby quilts and 2 more throws to quilt, but I'm getting there!

Have any of you ever made a quilt top and just for one reason or another decided that you just don't like it enough to quilt?? I made a quilt top (Irish Chain, with cowboy fabric). I wasn't careful with my cutting, and ended up with lots of horse butts popping up here and there. It's cute, but the all those bums bug me.

So the question is--should you quilt out of guilt?

Anita--back away from the quilt and no one gets hurt. If you don't like it, put it away. Life is too short to invest time into something you don't love and see as a chore.

Time to start something you LOVE!!!

Ok, May's ufo is no more! Ugh, I can see why I didn't want to put in the time to finish it. Started and finished the top about 6 years ago, made with scraps from another quilt (that I love!), all fabrics from my stash at the time. I don't care for most of them now, and the top was just thrown together. Used a little rick-rack (thanks to the mention on Vicki's crazy quilt thread). Ahh...done.

Can't see on this pic, but I practiced quilting loops, and put rick-rack in the binding, too. I guess the ufos are good for something, even if it's just practice.

sloth003, you don't sound very sloth-like! You've done how many quilts this month? wow. I'd live to see pics, especially the wedding quilt :)

Anita, if you really don't like it, and it really bothers you to work on it, give it away. Or, if it doesn't bother you *that* much, finish it, and then give it away :)

All kinds of groups who make charity quilts take tops and other unfinished business and complete them.

How big is the quilt? I like the rickrack to make an inner border, been seeing a lot of projects with it these days, it's fun. Was it hard to sew it in the binding? --Amy

I don't think I'll get anything done, but I have been working on a two-year-old UFO, practicing my "show" quilting. ICK! I like heavy quilting, but this is excessive! The quilt will be beautiful when done, but I think it's ridiculous how heavily we are expected to machine quilt these days to be taken seriously in the major shows. I have to practice this because of a new client who wants me to do her show quilts next year. Good thing I have a suitable project (wallhanging) to do it on. I keep hoping that the other shoe will drop and that as machine quilters, we'll be able to go back to "normal" quilting again.
