Thanks for looking and all your sweet comments. I actually think the grownups enjoyed the turkeys as much as little GD did--especially when they discovered there was candy inside! LOL I want my GD to think it's fun to come to Gma's house. Jane, I need new ideas for little things to entertain her, she's already hooked on computer games and it's really hard to compete with that! LOL Luckily, I have two dogs she loves to play with and share her food with, so that helps keep her busy. ;o) I have to tell all of you that while holidays are so fun and such special times with family--I was wiped out last night and today! And then I read Ms. Karen's post on how she's already getting all her Fall decorations put away! Can I just tell you how much I am dreading all that work???? Karen, would you wanna come do mine too? I paint furniture for a living and, I. Love. Chalk Paint. I do use other things though, but when given the choice, I will choose Annie Sloan Chalk Paint any day of the week. I can get 5 medium size pieces or three large (dresser size) pieces out of one can. With the light colors I need two coats, some darker I can use just one, or if I am going very distressed, I use one. I have used both water base poly as a finish and also wax, depending what the use will be. Poly does tend to turn lighter yellowish color on lighter colors. Wax feels better it is smooth and yummy feeling. I have 4 not-very-delicate boys in my house and it has held up fine. I made some homemade chalk paint for the first time yesterday using calcium carbonate powder. I didn't hate it, but it is not the same. I hope it is not against the rules, but, I have a blog that shows my furniture and almost all of it is done with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I think it's worth every penny. My daughter and I love to play scrabble when she visits. We have done this since she was young. Grandma was always there too, we toast her before a game...so many memories. Daughter is legally blind, getting harder for both of us to play. I love the game table and also the table with all the colors. Have been putting off painting a large scrabble board on the kitchen table. Want to use colors off the norm, teal instead of blue, rust instead of pink, etc. Have found a way to enlarge all with pics from the net to use as a pattern. Tiles are an easy deal with a stamped leather letter tool. Need to get on this project. Thanks for reminding me to work on this.

Am finding this interesting as to ease of use and process. May be off topic, but I have always painted old furniture and even did the FP surround with acrylic craft paint. Buy the big bottles on sale, sometimes mix for a specific color wanted. The chalk paint almost looks/reads to be close to acrylic craft paint. Acrylic goes on beautifully and in one coat and goes a long way. I age items with regular stain (Minwax,etc). They have all held up well. I'd love to get the formula for chalk and acrylic craft paint to see a comparison. Enjoying the pics, love to see more of the great results. Amazing how good your projects turn out.
