I like the pattern in the glass, but think darker wood-tone frames would be better with your wall color and furnishings. And either a plain square mirror or third mirror in the middle.

I would put all four up above the sofa. You obviously love the mirrors, and I'm sure they weren't cheap. The four would be balanced and would add much to the room.

Gee, they are pretty. However, I don't think they'd add anything to your DR.

But, as newdawn suggests, I think 2 of them would look very nice over your sofa, maybe even 3 of them. I think all 4 would be too much.

I don't mind the white frames at all, but I happen to love light colors on a dark background.

I like the idea of using 3 over the sofa and using the fourth alone somewhere else.

Usually a lurker, and I have no design ability.

But I will say that I have these mirrors in both my kitchen and my bedroom and I love them. For me they reflect light (in a condo with limited natural light) and I can tolerate the fact that they are mirrors without having that "who is that old lady constantly following me around" feeling : )

I agree that three over the sofa and one in another area would be nice. I tend to feel they look better with something under them instead of just hanging on the wall in groups as they would be if you put them in the dining room. One hung alone kinda looks more like a window. IMHO

newdawn, you're on. But my weapons of choice are duct tape and super glue. I am especially dangerous with the super glue. My family can attest to that!!

Wipe them down with a water based stain and knock the white glare off them, put three like that above the sofa. Take the white one that will stay white and put it elsewhere in the house. It will give the impression of architectural ruins that you found and kept three in their condition (antiqued) and one was painted to update it.

Pretty mirrors! And I agree they'd look nice above the couch. The only thing I'd think about is what the mirrors are reflecting. If they're reflecting the mirrors in the china cabinet opposite, it wouldn't be as pleasing as if they were bringing the outside in, or reflecting candlelight or a piece of art you love, etc.
Just a thought. Sometimes you can't really tell until you hold them flat against the wall.

I would try out all 4, but hang them so that they are all touching and look like one big dramatic unit. Then I'd see how the white fits in, and if it didn't work, do the stain job that patricia suggested.

I think all 4 over the sofa would be fabulous. I love your table lamps as well!

I agree with Patricia, hang 3 and use the other somewhere else. Lovely room and very pretty mirrors.

WOW! Thanks for all the suggestions they are all great. I decided to go swim laps it helps me think and I was thrilled to see all the rsps. Patricia 43 I was thinking of trying to darken them a bit myself but I'm not very crafty but I may try one and if it doesn't work that will be the one I hang alone. No apology necessary Newdawn and Monablair you both gave me a chuckle. I will try all your ideas and see what works best. Thanks again for your all of your help.

Here it comes...more advice!
I'd hang all four over the sofa, butted together as Cat tail recommends, and low enough so that they are the same height as your bay window. They'll give the effect of completely opening that wall, as though you were sitting under a lovely window. If the white matches your trim, I'd leave it be...if not, I'd paint it to match the trim, which will strengthen the feeling that it's a window.
If that overwhelms you, do the same thing with three, and put the other somewhere else...but I think the four of them will be more effective.

I misunderstood and thought you only had 2.....yes, hang all 4 of those mirrors on the wall. It will really make an impact!! Unless you have a great spot for one - 3 would work, too.

Throw a middle kidney shaped pillow in the same color as the frames on the sofa.....maybe with your last initial embroidered in the chocolate.

Hi, Marybeth1 - Seems to be a lot of "3" vs. "4" over the sofa. You might want to test them out by laying them on the floor, side by side and standing on your ottoman to get a good overview of them. Move them around a bit and try different distances between them, too.

If you don't want to open the 2nd package, maybe make same-size models of them out of big pieces of cardboard that you can tape to the wall to see what 3 and 4 look like with different spacing. Have fun! I wish we could all be there and have a glass of wine on those comfy couches while you figure it out!

Pretend you are arranging pictures. Move the ottoman out and lay the mirrors on the floor in front of the sofa. How do they look: 1.with all 4 touching
2.with all 4, but with 1 or1/2" between them
3.with Only 3
If you find an arrangement you like put them up. Live with them in white and re-do the color later if you want.
Addressing the reflection issue, it is preferable to reflect something lovely. If the mirrored buffet/hutch doesn't work for you, could it be moved ... Oh I can hear DH groaning from here:>)...to a side wall( fit??), and replaced with a long table or chest/console. Then you could have a big, bright painting over that, with lamp and greenery, perhaps, to be reflected in your new "windows". I'm thinking, however, that that's asking a lot and expect your sofa wall is far enough away from the D.R. hutch that it will be fine.
One last thought...do not keep them if you are going to end up beating yourself up over your mistake. been there, done that, no fun!

Your instincts are good; trust them. I would hang three over the sofa and find another place for the fourth, or sell it on CL, or give it as a gift. Three, five and seven are 'magic numbers' in decorating. Your rooms are lovely and three over the couch will really help give a finished look.

Seeing your room, I would prefer the impact of one large mirror, rather than 3 hung side by side.
