Thank everyone for your compliments and encouragement - I feel great to have completed this one - and now I'm trying to see what to do next...I have several UFO's ready to be taken on - just have to see how much I'm ready to dive in right now.. Ann, perhaps the next project will be to get starting on the sunflower quilt! Deanna, the finished size is 14 1/2" x 36" Yesterday I took a bit of a break for a larger project and worked on some birthday blocks - trying to keep ahead of the dates.... Geri, It is for me.. Jayne, I agree...it's difficult to find homes for everything - this runner doesn't really do with my home decor theme at all - but I loved the colors and just wanted to do the runner anyways...I'll put it aside - since I have my home up for sale - I my be able to use it in the next one..or it will be possible to use it in my patio decor when I entertain outside....so there are other possibilities. Rosa, this was the first time that I did binding - and I'm very surprised that I didn't have a problem - but I must say that it went together very well.

I probably won't be able to do anything more tonight to finish out my month as my two oldest grandchildren are spending the night tomorrow night....their parents are walking with my other daughter-in-law's March of Dimes team (Raina's Wings) early Saturday morning. I need to get some things straightened up around here for their visit. UPDATE #3 1. One birthday block (Finished and sent out) 2. One (maybe two) paper pieced lotto block (Finished one and have pieces cut for second one) 3. Take individual photos of the birthday blocks I received and continue working on my Bobbin Babes notebook. When finished, I will have one page dedicated to each member with photos of what I received from them, what I sent them, and a photo of all the blocks they received (Worked a little on my pages, but this isn't a huge priority and it will take the rest of the year to accomplish the entire project.) 4. Hound the Bobbin Babes who have already had birthdays and haven't posted photos of all their blocks yet! (I hounded them last month with very little results, I might wait another month to hound again!) 5. Wash the rest of my fabric stash (Washed a bunch, but not all, washed a bunch more...still have some to do, but getting there!) 6. Possibly do a birthday block for June (Finished!) 7. Possibly make a couple of blocks for a quilt I want to start (Cut out several pieces for this quilt and finished six blocks) Salijo

Jayne - birthing a quilt is essentially turning it and topstitching. You baste the top to the batting, and cut the batting to match the edges of the quilt top. Lay the batting/top combo on top of the backing fabric so the top and backing are right sides together. Stitch 1/4" around the perimeter with the batting side up, and leave a hole big enough to turn it right side out when done. Pook out the corners, topstitch 1/4" inside the edges, and whipstitch the hole closed. Quilt as usual. A walking foot helps tremendously during the whole process, and you have to make sure you do a good job basting it so you don't end up with puckers.

You know, maybe they did come from BB&B. I just remember DH found them and then showed them to me. BB&B is probably where we got ours. The colors are fairly bright -- it makes me think of Fiestaware. Get them and see if you like them.
