I am mad about those big peachy pink Mediterranean houses but I also love the color above. I vote for the peachy pink color, my favorite. How about a dark green almost black for the door and shutters? I don't know if the dark green would scream California or Mediterranean though.

Choose Exterior Scene.

Try the Spanish Revival house (or any other you want), then plug in some colors like Mossy Gold (just request Mossy or you'll get a whole bunch of different golds), Baguette, a peachy pink like Constant Coral or any other colors that will be suggested in this thread. You will also get suggested coordinating colors for doors, shutters and trim.

Another idea is to go to your nearest paint store like SW or BM and ask what are the most popular colors for your style house. Take a picture of your house and ask to talk with the color consultant when you're there and see what they recommend.

Doesn't hurt to gather as many opinions as possible and see if there is a common thread.

Ooh, that SW website is FUN! Thanks for the tips. Mossy Gold is very similar to the color of the houses of both neighbors on either side of us. I think peach is too pink for me--it makes me think of South Beach, not California. :)

I'm going to see if I choose dark green/black for shutters/door on the SW website, whether they can suggest a complementary color.

I think I found 2 similar color schemes to the one posted above on the SW site:

Emerging Taupe, with Familiar Beige as trim and Darkroom as the door and shutter accents

or

Truly Taupe, with Lotus Pod as trim and Raisin as accents.

Do you think those are too bland? Should I be trying to figure out what kind of feelings I want to convey? I like the idea of returning home to a warm and welcoming exterior, but that makes me think of yellow, and that's not what I want. Sophisticated and elegant sounds nice, but a bit stuffy. How do people ever decide? :)

How about a deep olive green for the main body of the house? Of couse -- Mediterranean or Spanish -- and I think of food! LOL!
