I think Cheryl disappointed her partner. I agree with Len. It wasn't a very exciting free-style. Even though I didn't think Donald should have been in the finals, he was terrific in his free-style. I still would have loved to see what Derek would have choreographed for Maria. I think she could have won the whole thing. Who do I think should win? Probably Mark and Katharine but I'm pretty sure Donald will win. Lots of football fans out there.

I am guessing William. I agree that Maria should be in the finals instead of Donald. But we have to remember that this is really a popularity constest.
This year the stars were the most talented dancers f any season. But, it all comes down to the audience and who is liked the best.

I think Maria and Derek should still be there, but I will be rooting for Katherine. I think she is graceful and an excellent dancer. In addition I think she's sweet and nice as well. The other two are wonderful dancers as well ,so it will be hard. I think I'd go for William if Kat doesn't win. The guys probably have more fans that Kat, but it should be judged on how well they did thru out the competition every week consistently.

Personally, I don't think they should allow football players on the show anymore. These people work so hard and they don't stand a chance against a football player.

In that case they should ban any and all athletes. About half of the people who have won DWTS are athletes of one kind or another.

Sadly, this show is not about who is the better dancer. It is a popularity contest and football players are popular.

I didn't care for this season when they voted Max off I didn't watch anymore until last night. Too much stage lighting etc I like to just watch the dancers. IMHO

I must be the only one that feels this way but I don't it's fair to let everyone know how the judges vote before the public votes. May be just me but don't you think their votes, with their professional opinions, would sway the public quite a bit? Can't it be figured out so that the public votes and then the judges' opinions can be aired? Dunno, maybe it's just me but I've wondered about this all season.

In a way I agree with you BrownThumb, but if the judges' scores are to be held, so should their comments. Often they (especially Carrie Ann Inaba) will gush all sorts of wonderful stuff, but then will give a somewhat realistic score. So if the viewers just heard the comments without seeing the score, they could be unduly swayed to vote for someone who doesn't deserve it.

My daughter and I agreed that we should have voted. Donald should not have even been in the finals. Since it seems to be a "popularity" contest, rather than the person who improved the most, yeah, we should have voted. Sigh.

I agree it is a popularity contest, or else how would Kate Gosselin, the world's worse dancer, stay so long. She had fans , apparently. Katherine ,who I wanted to win ,was totally unknown to all including me, but Donald who I never heard of, is known to football fans. Kat should have won.

I just hope in the fall they bring back good dancers not Bristol Palin or Kate for the controversy. It was a good contest this time..everyone was talented. Maria should not have gone so soon. .

I didn't watch it. It has, like everyone else has said, turned into a popularity contest. Just like American Idol. If there's a cute girl and a good lookin' guy in the finals, the guy will win almost everytime.

According to an article I read online some think it's because there are millions of tweens and boppers with unlimited txting. They are in love with the guy and will vote repeatedly til the cows come home.

Considering how these shows have been going lately, I think I believe it.

I'm not a football fan and honestly did not know who Donald was, but heck the guy did a fantastic job dancing and that's what this was about. It's not like we are talking about Kate plus 8 who was a horrible dancer. I think America got it right with the final two pairs and either one deserved the win.

I think that any of the final three (and maria should have been there too) could have won. For non dancers they were fabulous. I just thought Kat was consistently the best with the highest scores, but Donald and William were so good too. They all could be pros now.

I think the thing that won it for Donald Driver was the free style dance; especially the fact that it was the last dance the viewers got to see before voting.

Tom Bergeron said at one point during the evening that through the first 8 weeks, Katherine had scored more total points than any contestant ever on the show. That should have counted for something, in my opinion. Just as the judges got the final score on the final dance on Tuesday, the final three couples should have earned extra points based on how many points they scored during the season.

And considering how Katherine Jenkins was a virtual unknown in the United States until she did this show (she was primarily known only to classical music fans), for her to come in second is, to me, the same as winning (without, of course, the "coveted mirror ball trophy"). Take away Donald Driver's football fans, and Katherine would have won by a landslide.

Jas, ask and ye shall receive. It was a good time, for sure! My favorite part of his freestyle, and IMHO the most difficult, is the very end. He does a difficult and dangerous lift after spinning around for a while.
