Woodlawn Blue vs. Palladian Blue????
Comments (5)Palladian Blue is a green/blue and Woodlawn is blue if that helps. the link below helped me out when I couldn't tell the hues from the color strips. It's still hard to decide though. Comments (4)About a year ago, I painted my windowless half-bath Palladian Blue, a color I had long loved. But I definately did not like it in there. It was just too green. I think the Woodlawn Blue would be much better in a windowless room. (I don't have the 2129-60 color in my fandeck so cannot comment on that.) Also, at Lowes (I think, but it could be Home Depot now that I think of it...) they have a great little thing by their paint samples where you can put the paint sample in a little box and then try different lighting types on it. It's amazing how different the same sample will look under fluorescent vs. daylight vs. incandescent. And if you put a Reveal light bulb in, that also changes the room dramatically. I ended up painting my room Sherwin Williams Tradewind, which I love, and it what I was picturing when I first put on the Palladian Blue. I've attached pics for you......See MorePlease help me pick a BlueStar range color
Comments (23)Skoo -- I hate to rain on your parade, but to prevent a future problem... Costa Esmeralda has simply got to be some of the prettiest granite on the planet. That is, many slabs of Costa Esmeralda are; others can vary from disappointing to downright frightening. So until you pick out YOUR slabs of Costa Esmeralda, you don't know if the slabs your yard will have when the time comes will be grey-green, aqua-green, mint-green, 'where's-the-green?' green, lemongrass-green, or puke-green. Which makes Costa Esmeralda a uniquely poor granite to plan colors around. You may be thinking "Well, I'll just buy these slabs now" to guarantee you'll get the colors you want (need). And if you have a place at your house to store the slabs until you're ready to use them, this is a viable strategy. You'll run the risk of the slabs getting damaged in multiple transits, or possibly cracking in a freeze-thaw thing. But if you have the slabs in a place you control -- then go ahead. But do NOT rely on writing your name on some slabs -- even if you pay for them now -- then leaving them with the stone yard or fabricator. Because slabs are sold out from under you SO OFTEN that it's more the rule than the exception. Do a search here for "They sold my slabs!" and you'll see what I mean. Comments (31)Nami, Thank you! Well, to keep things tranquil and serene, if you have white woodwork, you could just go with a soft white or light ivory. I know Pottery Barn has plain, unlined panels that wouldn't be too heavy. I saw them a couple of weeks ago and got them for our dining room. I wanted something that would filter light and not be too heavy looking for the room yet not too sheer. I kind of like things monochromatic in the bedroom but that's just me. You might go to a fabric store and find a nice subtle print. It depends on how dressy you want it to be or how dark. You could also go with the bronzey color of the pillow you see on my bed if you wanted a darker look. I wasn't much help was I?? LOL!...See MoreRelated Professionals
