Jenn O's pool build - DFW area

Wanted to document my build in hopes that it may help someone else in the future. I've thoroughly enjoyed researching this site and especially love looking at all the pictures! I wish my backyard was larger, but we've tried to do the best we can with the space we have. Can't wait to get that back fence raised, but that will have to be later this year....

Here are the specs on our pool (I'll try to list the equipment based on the contract. I'm clueless on the equipment though so no telling if what I type will make any sense):

532 gallons

Tiered spillway

Dig started on July 8th, 2009

Day 1:

No sooner than the excavation crew was done the rebar crew arrived:

Day 2:

Rebar Completed and plumbing started

Day 3:

Gunite

Day 6 through 9:

after a quiet weekend, tile and stone started. I had NO idea how much labor was involved in the stone work! Yikes! These poor guys are working in over 100 degree weather here in TX. I've served more gatoraid and bottled water than ever in my life this last week!

After agonizing over the tile choice and hammering my PB for the color of OK flagstone I thought I wanted, I'm REALLY questioning my choices now. Unfortunately, nothing I can do about it at this point! And I'm not happy with the spa spillway. The PB offered to do a tiered spillway on the day they were shooting gunite, I agreed and am not in love with it, again, too late now! I hope it all looks nice when it's complete....Other than those complaints, which are MY FAULT (trying to be interesting and different....), things are going great! :)
