Need ideas for lake frontage/wetland area - zone 5
Comments (4)I think all your ideas will work, including the grass seed. I would limb up the tree more ... at least so you can walk under it. As it grows, you're going to want to create and maintain view of the water below it....See MoreNeed advice please -- landscape the walkway area of house

Comments (39)Thanks for the rearrangement but unfortunately that doesn’t work. I already mentioned in the initial post to ignore the kitchen layout; I’m good with that and that’s already changed a bit. I don’t want a dining space, it’s just a waste for me. I actually took it out of the initial plan. The screen porch needs to be at the back of the house due to the size/shape of the side lot - putting it there gives me that awkward extra space behind the porch. I also had windows that opened into the screened porch so that I could prep drinks/snacks there and have that as a pass through, which I loved. It’s more important to me that the windows in the kitchen look into the side yard; like I said the view out back isn’t an awesome view it doesn’t need to be a focal point. I also had a small cabinet section by the fridge/pantry for a coffee station. I also lost a ton of storage and counter space And having the fridge as the focal point when you enter the room is just not flattering - I liked it better as glass sliders on that wall. I don’t want windows on the other wall of Bedroom 2 because that will be my office and I want flexibility on whether I center the desk in the room or do something along that wall - plus the windows would cause too much glare in the background for zoom meetings. The other bedroom could probably use another window though. I prefer the master closet at the back of the bathroom - I’ve had it both ways and I don’t like if a guest needs to use my bathroom they have to go through my closet nor do I want a hallway and then more doors that enter into the closets. I do agree about extending the house (as I mentioned in the original post) so my question about that was how to estimate the cost of that....See Moremarys1000
