building a swimming pool on a budget need help

We have had an above ground round concrete swimming pool built in our yard with no equipment installed. It is 30' across and 5' tall and holds 25,000+ gallons it has four 1-1/2" threaded inserts for jets etc. spaced evenly on the walls, a 2" drain line with two 8" drains spaced 4 feet apart on the floor and a pentair skimmer with two 2" threaded bottom ports in it on the most down wind side of the pool. I would love a suggestion as to what equipment I need to install and where to buy it for the least amount of money. I think I've decided on a 300lb sand filter system with a 1-1/2 Hp pump and some type of auto chlorinator that uses the 3" tablets. If you can offer any suggestions I would truly appreciate it. We are in West Texas where 100+ degree days are frequent and we recieve very little rain. I also need a distributor for the in wall 1-1/2 threaded jets. Thanks to all who help us in this indeavor.

Plasterman2000 I don't have any pictures that do it justice or give you a good feel for what it looks like but I had Hayes Construction in San Angelo,TX build it for me and they have some good pictures on their web site at http://www.hayesconst.com/Samples_of_Our_Work.html
We haven't got the rock on yet but the pool is almost full, we are on a 1 gallon a minute well so as you can imagine it takes a while to pump 25,000 gallons. Thanks for any pointers you can give me. Steve

Do the drywall forms used for the gunite stage need to be removed before decking or is it okay to backfill and leave them in place? I would think it should all be taken out but have heard that it gets buried?

Hi Guys, Thanks for replying. Actually not even using it as a Spa. Its just a water body kind of thing for us. My bungalow is very small and hence we couldn't afford any more space for a pool even if we wanted to. So this pool (or water body as id like to call it) is only for visual appeal. Its located outdoor and is open to the sky and direct sunlight on it for about 4 hours. Secondly, im in India. Nobody here heats a pool at least as far as i know. We have only burning summers & other times summer. There is no actual winter in my country, at least in my state, as the temperature in winter is only as low as 23degree centigrade. That's our winter. We have gone with a combo filter from EMAUX POOLS brand. It comes with a .2hp pump and a sand filter matched for it by the company itself. This is ideal since i intend to run the pump on solar power (owing to abundant summer sunlight more than id like to have) and the pump shouldn't have a huge start-up power draw. Usually motors take about 3-4 times their rated power when they start ? Hence this small pump was preffered and they said its about 8000 ltrs per hour capacity. My pool has 6000 ltrs in it. I also heard the cartridge filters are very sticky and dont wash or hose out easily. Apart from this the pool company only advised us to use chlorine granules and brush the pool daily (or even alternate days, since its very minimally used). The location of the home is in the city outskirts so not much of dust and no trees around. Its located in the middle of a 20 acre grass land. What else will i need to do to maintain this pool on daily basis ? Thanks

This door will be removed. BBQ area will be under here. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but the concrete is pretty rough. Our PB suggested poring new concrete to bring it to the new level of the door and with the pool and stamping it all to look cohesive. Problem with that is it costs 14k and we would like to put that money into other things.Anyone have any suggestions as to how we can make it blend in and look nice with the new stamped concrete?

jasonlmarsh, thats the one although currently mine is in the picture before that on the web site with just preinstalled female threaded 1-1/2" fittings inside and out in 4 positions around the pool, a pentair dual 2" drain line skimmer where their picture shows the cut out and two drains in the floor 4 feet apart connected to a 2" main drain line. Since all of my jet piping would be exposed on the outside I'm planning on plumbing it all first and then facing the entire pool with flag stone like in the picture that you posted from their web site.

After much searching I have found a 1-1/2 HP Pentair Dynamo pump for $229.00 a 350 lb Pentair Sand Dollar with the clear pro technology sand filter for $399.95 and a Pentair inline chlorine feeder that takes the 3" tablets for $79.95. What do you think will this equipment do a good job of servicing my pool or is it lacking somewhere.
