Desperate Housewives: eyeopener on verbal abuse

The program sent out such a great message on verbal abuse.

An eye-opener.

Meaning Verbal abuse can do as much harm as physical abuse.

Hope you watched.

My nephew was verbally abused by his father, growing up.

He's 38, still lives with his mother, who is divorced from his father.

Words are harmful!

I wish I had seen the show, but I'm having to wait til tomorrow to watch it on the computer. Our cable service kept freezing up (this channel only!!) and I missed a good portion of the show.

My husband always says ... Word are like Bullets. You can't take them back.

    And that is soooo true!

I didn't see it, but thanks for letting us know. A good reminder to think before we speak.

I have always tried to teach my kids how hurtful words are. And of course, I've always tried to remember it myself when dealing with people.

I felt so bad for that kid on the show; even though I knew it was "only" a show. Can you imagine how a child feels growing up with that??? Very very sad.

So glad I taped it. I haven't watched it yet.

I didn't see the show. But I know a lot about verbal abuse. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words DO hurt.

I saw the show last night and I thought it was really good. Even though the poor kids turns out to be totally creepy you can't help but feel so sorry for him.

First time I actually pitied a serial killer.

I watched it and feel the same as Firemanswife....What a terrible life that young fellow had and when you think about it, there's probably quite a few living like that, that we don't know about....So very sad...And like Lily said, actually pitied a serial killer......Very good episode.....

On a funny note, I loved when Lynnette stood at the door and saw the mother laying on the floor and remarked, "dead drunk" again?"

I did not get to see it. But i know firsthand all about abuse, verbal and physical. And yes, words HURT. No one should be treated that way.
