Too busy swimming to post my pics!

Well, our pool was finished on June 13th, and we've been swimming ever since. So, I'm finally sitting down to post my pictures! (I hope I can figure it out!)

Thanks for the tips and pictures that helped us with the process!

Now it's on to the landscaping! All in all, it took two months from dig to swim. Everything went as planned and we've been very happy with our PB!

For first-timers, we're ecstatic!

Everyone have a happy 4th and while we're relaxing by our pools, remember the brave men and women fighting for our wonderful freedom!!!!

Wonderful Pool we went with Tahoe Blue as well and hope to be filling next Friday or so. Cute kiddos!

I post on the Fruit and Orchards forum and the people over there are forever taking about the best ways to net blueberries so the birds don't eat them all. I know that when I was first looking into bird attracting berries no one ever mentioned blueberries but the birds go nuts over them. Anyway, before I planted the 12 new blueberries I already had about 20 in my yard but many of those are not mature so only afew are giving fruit. I just kept planting more blueberries so that there might be enough for everyone. When these two newer batches of Blueberry shrubs mature, there surely should be enough. I like to go out in the morning and eat ripe blueberries straight off the shrubs. So far there has never been enough to actually pick some to bring inside. Good timing on my planting as it raining today so they should get a good soaking, along with the hardy and fragrant lily bulbs I planted this week and lots of rose shrubs because they are pretty.

It’s like budgets don’t exist on Houzz. Why, when OP stated many times it was not in the budget to change the floors, nor does she want to, is that suggested multiple times here? If anything, if that was in the budget she’d have opted to change the countertop. There is perfect magical design in fantasy land where money isn’t a factor, then there is doing the best with what you can AFFORD. No shame in that. In fact, it should be applauded when someone doesn’t bankrupt themself to chase a perfectly designed space that will eventually grow stale anyway. Good design isn’t always about coming up with the ideal solution, but the most practical one. OP, I think your slate tile is BEAUTIFUL. What whimsical colorations. And how wonderful your husband installed it. We all makes design choices that turn out differently than expected sometimes and (most of us) learn to work around it. I think the cream backsplash you ordered is a good choice to tone things down. I also enjoy seeing a unique and colorful kitchen.

Wonderful! Are there wooden steps leading down to the pool area? I saw a handrail in one of the photos. The landscaping is as much fun as planning the pool for me. When you get started on it, some pictures with a view from the pool would be great. Enjoy your summer.

Thanks for the comments! We have a wooden deck with steps leading down to the pool area. It was existing, but the PB really incorporated it in nicely. I'll take pictures from another angle to show it.
We're doing the landscaping pretty slow. Being in GA we're in our second summer of record breaking drought, so we have real strict watering restrictions. We'll have to do small areas at a time.

It's lovely!!! Since you have little ones, can you tell me if the pebbletec is rough for them? I know yours are too little to probably have their feet touching all the time, but mine are 9-10-13 and seem to always be "running" in the pool (neighborhood pool)....I'm just worried that maybe I should go up to the pebble sheen, but not many people where I live (AL) have either so I can see the difference...would love your take on the texture and if you can compare it to something!! :) I love the color of your pool and the coping! Beautiful!!

Thanks for the nice comments! I really don't have anything to compare the Pebbletec to. I will say that my kids have been in the pool pretty much everyday and they haven't had any issues with the bottom of their feet. We've gotten several compliments on the color and feel from guests!

In what part of AL are you located? We don't see too many "Southerners" on here!
