March Fat Quarter Swap - Geometrics

Join us for lots of fun!

I thought that I would post this now so you have time to look for appropriate fabric for the March FQ Swap. The March fabrics will be "Geometrics" - stripes, polka dots, triangles, squares, rectangles, etc. Any colors. If you are participating, you will need to mail your fabric to me by March 15. Just send me an e-mail message to get my address or if you post here I will get back in touch with you. Overall, I think it is easier for you to contact me because I will not be checking this post every day - maybe once a week until it gets closer to the mailing deadline.

Here are the rules for the 2009 FQ Swaps. Micyrey and I are alternating as hostess and there will be a swap every other month. The January group already had lots of fun sharing fabric.

2009 FAT QUARTER SWAP

This will be a year long swap but you don't have to commit for the whole year - just sign up for the swaps you want to participate in. If you have any questions please contact me or post to this thread. You can do all six or only one or two and you do not have to decide way in advance.

This swap will have two hostess Michelle/ MICYREY and Jeanne/SANDLAPPER ROSE.

We will each do 3 swaps for the year.

Please send no more than 8 FQs per swap. They can be from your stash or purchased for the swap. All FQs need to be at least 18x22 inches. If you have some pieces that are a little larger, please don't trim them - a little larger is fine. If you send 4 you will get 4 back, if you send 8 you will get 8 back, and so on.

Please no sticky labels or staples on fabric.

Pack FQs in a plastic baggie with your name (real name and GardenWeb name) on the bag and be sure the fabric is odor and hair free - clean and ready to use fabric you would want to use in a quilt. If not, the FQs will be returned to you.

100% cotton fabric only please. When you mail, put your zipped plastic bags into a large mailing envelope along with an 8 1/2" x 11" (or larger) mailing envelope with your name and mailing address on the front and return postage IN STAMPS to cover the return of your fabrics. (Do not use metered postage from the post office on your return envelopes. It will not work!) A little extra postage on your return envelope would be helpful on the off chance that you are short.

All participants must be members of GardenWeb. If you do not live in the US and want to participate, get in touch with the hostess for special instructions. I believe in 2008, the non-US swappers sent extra fabric for the hostess, allowing the hostess to purchase the necessary stamps.

Mark your calendar now with the upcoming dates and swap themes:

The swaps will be:

1. January - COMPLETED - natures beauty, natural prints

2. March - sandlapper_rose- "Geometrics" - stripes, polka dots, triangles, squares, rectangles, etc. Any colors. (Mail by March 15)

3. May - micyrey - spring colors: yellow, white, pink, purple (Mail by May 15)

4. July - sandlapper_rose - Patriotic print or colors of the flag: red, white or blue (Mail by July 15)

5. September - micyrey - neutrals/fall colors (Mail by Sept. 15)

6. November - sandlapper_rose - Christmas/Winter (Mail by Nov. 15)

Thank you very much,

Michelle and Jeanne
