Slow learner (or dense?)

I think I'm a slow learner. It's been a while since I've had a brand new rotary blade. I was "making do" with the nicked blade that I had because I think I nicked it the 1st time I used my new cutter. I hated thinking about spending $7 on a new blade.

However, after trying to cut some "Whack n Stack" blocks & having to press really hard & re-cut each time because of nicks & dullness, I decided to buy a new one (on sale).

Oh my goodness. It cuts like a dream! Hardly any pressure & just glides. What was I thinking? I'm going to try to be more careful this time & try not to hit my ruler with my new blade.

Once Joanns restocks from the sale, I will be buying a few more for backup.

Again...what was I thinking?

BTW, when does the yucky smell from new cutting mats go away? My whole house stinks! I keep looking for something that has gone rotten, but then remember the new mat.

In rotary heaven,

Darla
