Has anyone used ipe snap-together panels?

Hi all,

I've recently installed ipe T&G flooring on my front porch and am planning on doing the same on the back porch, but was wondering if anyone had tried using those snap-together 1-foot square ipe panels that have plastic backing?

This may be the perfect solution for my existing covered balcony that is on the second floor above the back porch. There are a few brands out there but the swiftdeck.com guys were pretty informative and say that I can stain the panels using the same stain that I used on the porches (TWP black walnut) with no problem.

They also have trim and transition pieces made for the panels to meet the existing deck where necessary. You can easily cut the panels to fit around posts, etc. and you don't need to screw anything down, because the pieces interlock and the weight keeps it in place.

Does anyone have any experience with these panels - good or bad? Thanks.

Larry
