It will short out in the snow. And it's overkill. Spend that money next summer on a good chicken house and run. Predators won't chew on a plastic panel but they will pry at openings. The weak spots on the greenhouse are the vents and the doors. Can a predator get access to the vents AND have a solid spot to stand on and work on getting them pried open? Weasels, mink, bobcat? Weasels are especially good at getting in through small openings. The door or doors - if a "determined predator" can hook strong claws in the crack and pull, it may get them open. How sturdy are they. Lynx or bobcats might. Bears can just whack the greenhouse open like a pi�ata, but they are usually hibernating in deep winter.

Thanks for the kind words! We are in "The Snow Belt"...get LOTS OF SNOW and love it! Our property is right next to a hiking /cross-country ski trail. Often ski over to it. Nanatink, I usually put many of my carved bears in for the winter to hibernate (hee hee) along with more of the other stuff (like the chairs and bench)....ran out of time this last year with my DW being pregnant and all. We were both too pooped! LOL This spring, I gave everything an extra coat of verathane (sp) and the bench got an extra coat of paint. Dena, I ordered the oil! Excited to get it!!!! Winterberry (Ilex sp.) is very late to leaf out. Bend the twigs. If you can bend them 90 degrees, then they are probably alive. If they snap, then death has paid them a visit. You can also take your thumbnail and dig a small flap in the bark. If you see green, then life. no green, then no life. Some only make a light green, these are quite dark green underneath the brown bark. So far as the "cedar", do you know what you have? Like ken says, pics help a lot. If the bark has been chewed but the needles are still green, then the plant could be ok. Otherwise you may need to prune or replace.

Probably depends on how dry you can keep them. Your irrigation is shut off for the winter? How is the drainage? Mine was in full shade for several years from a tree since removed. It was fine and dandy, but drainage was sharp.
