Very very nice indeed. Are all these SR corner posts sitting directly on the footer? Is this your first try at such a project?

Thanks for the nice comments guys. This is my first project like this, so it has taken me two full summers to complete everything. The finish work took me forever as it was always a new learning experience. Everything is wrapped in IPE, the walls for the screens are IPE, and the ceiling and soffits are TG Fir.

The corner posts are 4x4" steel posts that support the roof structure. The posts mounted on 4 bolts out of the footers so that they could be adjusted in height at the time of construction, and then the space between the steel plate and the footing was filled in with high strength grout.

Did you have these steel posts customer made? Where would you go to even find something like that?

The posts were spec'd in the design by an engineer that the designer/architect used. They are 4x4" with a 1/2" thick plate on the bottom, tabs for the lower structure and tabs on the top for the upper structure. Once I had the drawings and specs, I had a couple of local, small steel fabricating shops quote the job. The guy that did the plans thought it was be easier for a novice like myself, to build the structure with steel posts vs working with numerous wood posts. Everything on the main structure was bolted together and it was fairly easy to line up.

I mounted the track on the underside of the header, and they trimmed it out on the interior and exterior with IPE for a clean fit. The door is one I made out of IPE, with a pre-made screen screwed in place.

How has the Woodzotic held up in the unprotected deck and stair area now that it has gone through a winter? Can you post some photos? What part of the country are you located in?

I can take some photos this weekend for you. it has held up pretty well. I am in the midwest, (st. louis mo). my back yard faces east and we have a lot of trees in the area, so i do not get intense sun on it. we have had a lot of rain, snow and ice for us this winter. I have not noticed a lot of difference yet between the open deck and the interior portion (a little, but not a lot). i will try to post this weekend.

I just built an IPE deck/porch and would like to screen it in. Can you provide any additional details on how you constructed the sliding IPE door? How did you frame it?, what was the dimension of the wood? What track system did you use for the top and bottom? What dimension IPE did you use for the main screen window openings?
