Hi painterly -- all very lovely. I think your backsplash works very well with your granite and all the other elements in your kitchen.

I really like it! The tile lets your granite be the star, but still has lots of interest with the mixture of matte and polished glass. It goes well with your contemporary vibe. I'm not one for wild or busy patterns, so to me your palette is lovely but calm and serene.

Love it! The color blends but the glass brings in a new texture and goes with the modernity of all your other elements. Nice!

I like it, different enough but still definitely linked to the colors of the granite. The whole palette looks great.

Looks great! Be sure to use the right mastic (is that the right term?) with the glass tile. Mastic is usually white but with transparent glass tile I know you have to use a different one. I'm not much help but maybe someone else can chime in with the specific advice.

Thank you so much, everyone!!! You really made me feel better about the choice I made. We don't have too much natural light back there, so I am always afraid of things being too dark, since my cabs are already espresso colored.

The one other tile I was considering is the glass linear by Island stone in Frangipani. It is a little more mushroomy in color, and the glass blend is all matte with a beach glass texture to it. While it is pretty, I thought it would be a little too dark, and not enough interest with the matte and texture. Here is a color sample on the granite. You can see the pattern in the link below.

The tile is beautiful, different textures, shapes. My only thought is to look at something a little less tan, just in comparision to see if you like the contrast with the counter and the cabinet better. I guess that would be a "clear" tile if they make it in the same layout, painted white behind. It is not that I don't like what you picked, I just wondered if something a little brighter might make more contrast for the counter to pop & the cabinets look sharp - but it depends what you are looking for.

Your choices are really lovely, I look forward to seeing hte complete kitchen.

I have been searching for something like this somewhere between this color and white, but this is the lightest I can find without it being real white. I'll keep looking a little longer and also see how the white looks.

(PS our tile color is Wolfgang White--sometimes "reads" slightly blue-green depending on the time of day/light--our tile guy used white thinset to install it)

I like tile. My former boss has that same tile, but in cat mom's color. I have to admit that I couldn't see the texture the first few times I saw his new kitchen. I agree that if there were other colors available perhaps one slightly less tan might be worth looking at. It doesn't sound like there are lots of color choices though so I'd go with what you have. Very pretty. Hurray around the bases to home plate so we can see it all done!

I love your elements. The glass cream tile in the first
post is perfect. I love that it brings out the creamy
colors in your granite but does not compete. It compliments
and draws the eye to the stone. It is elegant, beautiful
classy without being domineering or pushy.

If Reece Witherspoon were a tile this would be it.

Boxerpups- that was the single best description of tile that I have ever heard!!!! I read your post and said to myself, "it IS Reese Witherspoon tile!!"

I did find some tile that is more vanilla in color and comes in 2x12 planks, which could be cool. Once I get some pricing, I'll get a sample. I'm not going to mull over it too much though- I think this original tile is going to really work. (hopefully it won't look too much darker once the grout is in.)

What would I do without all of your wonderful advice? You all have no idea how much you have helped me navigate through my first renovation.

I think all of your selections are fantastic. I especially love the long skinny glass tiles, a perfect choice. Can't wait to see the finished kitchen!
