Water, water, water everywhere 4 pics

No matter which direction you head in ND you will probably run into flooded roads, county gravel roads, county highways, Interstate even! One of our Interstate was closed do to flooding and is now open but still water over it, traffic is moving thru at a whopping 5 mph.

Here are a few pics DH took earlier today, this is just going in one direction. The town to the north of us is sandbagging to beat heck.

This is a country paved highway, the water looks like its gone down some.

This is under a gravel road, its running and running and taking over the land surrounding it.

And of course many roads and bridges washed out.

Wow, that's horrible. Water in mass amounts like that is a very powerful thing. Sad.

No it shouldnt You see a terrarium is a catch 22 in my opinion, thats why I no longer use them. The tray method is 100% with me, but when you pump up the humidity you then always have a risk of fungus. If the water in the trays goes stagnant then ofcause this also leads to rot. I think in your setup where the plant has such a nice living enviroment with lots of light and measured humidity, that watering it by hand would be fine. You could even put a layer of PERLITE in the water trays to absord the excess water, this water will evaporate from the perlite giving extra humidity as its needed and will ofcause clean the water (when it condenses it should be like a solar distill) I think your new method is 100% Cheers Sheldon

Kswl, I'm so sorry, but amazed you've come through this with your sense of humor intact. You have a great GC! Buy his wife flowers. Here in SC we've got a bit of a situation here at the marina. It's gotten down into the teens for a couple of nights running, and while the marina staff turned off the water to the docks Sunday and opened all the valves at each and every spigot on our power stands,the pipes didn't drain sufficiently and there are shattered water pipes on every dock and the main dock. I think they're going to have to replace all the water lines. Meanwhile we have no water to the boats. On our own boat we're having problems with our water pump, and we've got to keep our hot water heater running, because we're afraid our own water lines will freeze. We can't run water continously because our water tank is finite, only half full, and who knows when we'll have a water source again from the dock. I'm ready for this weather pattern to abate.

We too in the Minot--Burlington-Velva are are under water. What also is sad is the amount of land under water and the livestock. Several farmers have lost both mom and babies and now they are trying to rescue a group of sheep. Just keep the people in this state in your prayers. The kids are GREAT helping out.

That's horrible. My heart goes out to all wo are affected by the flooding. That's so sad about the cattle and other animals who perished. Prayers being sent up for all.

I'm just glad the nearest river is 6 miles in one direction and the next closest is 13 miles in another. Our flooding is all overland! ANy little creek or low spot is filled and overflowing pronto!

DD and the boys got a reverse 911 call last night to inform them of two roads closed in her town. She lives 6 miles away from where she works, now has to drive a 30 mile detour to get to work,school and daycare because of washed out roads.

The weather man assures everyone the water wont go down too fast because our ground is so saturated with the heavy rain we had last November, before we got this ton or two of snow! So it is slow going.

That road that fell scares the beejeebees outta me! Can't imagine anything much scarier than driving up to something like that!

We had the flooding in MO like that last year. My parents live in a flood plain... wish they'd move. DH works near the river too.. so when it floods it affects him even though our own town is safe from flooding.

What is it like near Park River? DH had an aunt that lived there, and there is still a lady there who used to help take care of her. Hope she is safe.
