I can totally relate to your challenges in finding the perfect off-white! I think I've tried just about every off-white in the BM collection and could probably paint a house with the remains of my tester pots,lol. Most recently, I went with BM Vapor (from the Affinity collection) in the basement and am happy with it...very soft which just a hint of color. Yet, I tried the same color in the upstairs hallyway/stairwell and read as too yellow so the search is still on! All comes down to the lighting in your home. I've tried Marble White too and really liked that one (but again-for the hallway, it was a little too yellow next to the Beacon Gray family room) Ballet White and Soft Chamois could be worth looking at as they do have less yellow if that's what you're after.I've also considered White Down and Maritime White (at 1/2 or 3/4 strength) Just throwing another option out there in addition to lots of great colors already suggested...White Dove oc17. Maybe too white for what you're looking for too, but a good one for a 'whiter' white without being too stark (if this makes any sense:)) FYI~ I came across the listing of some fave off-whites/descriptions 1. We just re-did the roof about a year or so ago. Spanish tile is very expensive, anyhow. Can you tell me more what you mean by "change the roof line"? That middle part will be changing. It's kind of hard to describe and I don't have any software tools that will let me show it but basically that section will be coming out so that it takes over the tiny front porch area and the columns. hard to see behind those arches but there's a door with sidelight (door and sidelight will change but basic configuration will remain) and a rather large window. That also means the trim around the window is open for change. Scale is about the same as the two sides, I think. See here's the thing - take away those hideous arches and you have a basic, simple, box of a house - the same box that is repeated over and over (and over) again in our neighborhood. The only thing distinguishing one house from another is color and a few bits of trim, essentially. The ones that stand out (in a good way) are the ones who have added a little something extra - such as a decorative fence and some beds in a distinctive style. If there were more true Spanish elements I wouldn't have an issue with it. In fact, the house I lived in as a teenager was Spanish in style (and quite nice even though it was a suburban tract home). But with just those two arches with those WTF boxes in the middle and the competing huge brick columns, it just looks half-a$$ed and thrown together - which it was. We know the builder and his style and reputation. He was interested in fast, simple and cheap. not style. Don't worry, though. I know I need to keep the changes fairly subtle/tame.

OP here. Just to clarify, yes, at the moment all that I can change is the colour of the bottom panel. However, all opinions are valuable, and you know, eventually the roof will have to be redone... ;) The front of the house is the only part that has been painted with the Slate colour, but the back of the house has been painted with the Driftwood, the trim paint, and the soffiting paint, and the scaffolding has been returned. Pic: Having watched my husband stand on a ladder on top of the scaffolding and practically hang out over the edge to paint the top, we're so not doing that again. :) We are limited in colours due to the formulation of this paint. I would have loved something more greeny, but didn't like the few greens they had. On the other hand, this does seem to read as green in different lights (our neighbors thought it was green). I quite like the driftood colour, and in real life, it goes nicely with the brick. Oddly enough, I had suggested painting one board where the stucco hardi panel and cedar join up, and DH had rejected that idea - will be looking at it again, though. DH is thinking of various options for the posts, some of which can be painted and some can't, so no decisions there as yet. Heck, we haven't even got the bobcat in yet to re-level the front of the house and then build a new walkway... What a charming house?? I like the gold very much but understand if you want a change. I would keep the white trim, paint the body of the house the current door/shutter color, and have fun with the door color. The first thing that comes to mind would be fuchsia!
