Luckygal, I have been saving toilet shards for a while now, they were smashed up with a sledge hammer!!! I have about 2 five gallon bucks full right now so I will have to go get some more...our city just had a big toilet upgrade rebate, buy a new low flush and get $50 rebate, and the place I was working at was the recycle depot in town,so that's where I get the smashed toilets(they are destined to be recycled into aggragate for paving....)Here's my Throne, it is 4ftw x 6ft tall.(That big blue ashtray is just like someones ashtray here used for a totem....) They like rich soil.mine get huge topping the house.I have a pair of green ones growing in old compost pile in dog kennel.They are already 15 feet plus& If I was better about watering them...would be large like some of the other years. My ones from 2 yrs ago...the seeds blew everywhere from hurrican rita...Still come up too.I know that area is sandy to about 3 ft. poor soil = shorter plants rich soil= tall huge plants also mulch them.yes they do branch out.mine seem to branch out around 3-4 feet.I got red& carmencita which is green with pink veins but the younger foiage is bronzeish cast till older then is green,but is neat.The hummers love them. The year Ivan came to water...sept.It blew my plants down& they had some uprooting.we're 7 ft when that happened.I transplanted them,cut the tip of stalk when it got ratty& they still grew to 15 ft,but we're shaded lower 3 ft Their is a short version out called impala..suppose to stay under 3 ft.I've never found seed...but know its there.I grew one that was from a large seed(it was size of runner bean)I can't find it either.It use to be the one that would return from root.I lost it when moved pond.

Thank you thank you thank you! But I have to say, these projects are soooo much easier than they look - I don't feel right taking so much credit, lol! Crocheting, for me, is a great stress reliever and mood elevator. I get satisfaction of doing something with my hands other than throttling DH (kidding) and I get satisfaction from seeing a completed project and saying to myself "I don't believe I actually FINISHED this!" The bonnet, sweater, and booties came from a pattern book I bought at JoAnne's, and the Onesie is from the current issue of Crochet Today (I'll put a link at the bottom). And I *really* think I'm going to ask for a row-counter for my b'day - as silly as it sounds I never even knew such a thing exists, lol! Beverly -- no hurry. But I really think they would have to be super tiny to work. It's hard to imagine someone making them small enough for this -- my guess is that beads will be a better size -- BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. I will be excited to see what you find. And if not, I know I can find the perfect beads to fashion some. AND, yes, I know I have a mental illness of some sort, but, well... I have an announcement: I am starting over on the stocking. I know, I know. But I keep looking at it and thinking I wish the whole foot was blue and the top of the waves were just above where the BOTTOM of the blue is. That would give me so much more room for the stocking to fold down over the palms. You can't tell in the picture, but when I appliqued on the palm trunks it "pulled" the stocking in and the fabric is bunched behind the sun to hide it -- which was very preventable because even though I turned under the edges of the trunks they have fusible on back and I didn't think to, like, hello, fuse them in place before stitching them down, so I'd love to redo that part. I also would change a couple other things just slightly but mostly I want to move the whole thing down and now that I know what goes where it's not going to take long to re-do. WELL, the hammock was a bit of a chore but I can do it while watching TV anyhow. I told DH that if I had enough fabric I wanted to start over and he got a look on his face where I knew he kind of wanted that foot all blue too. (Never mind HE is the reason it is NOT!!!!) But sometimes you just have to live with something awhile to know you don't want to live with it forever!!!! I have already cut out the red and blue for the new front.
