What type covered porch ceiling did you install?

we are building a fairly high end two story beach home in a hot, muggy environment on the South Carolina coast (assuming it is still standing after Ernesto passes through) and have four covered porches approximately 48X10 up and down, front and back. Our choices for a traditional coastal feeling for a beadboard porch ceiling appear to be (1) Azek PVC (2) vinyl (3) pine sheets and (4) pine individual boards. Does Hardiplank make beadboard boards for this kind of application?

Our builder primarily uses vinyl for low maintenance. While cost is not a driving factor it is a consideration. What are the appearance tradeoffs between using a wood like pine with 4 ft wide sheets versus individual boards other than labor cost? Is Azek or another synthetic product worth the extra cost? Would you use a 1 X 2 1/2 board or 1X4? Appreciate your thoughts on the matter. We do plan to paint the ceilings.
