I have been working on a totally machine applique Rose of Sharon quilt for my daughter that was married in September. It keeps getting pushed back behind other things. That is my MAIN goal for 2011.
Then I plan on a sampler quilt for a friend.
Then a wedding for my sister.
I should be a bit busy for a while!

I have two LARGE quilts ready for free motion quilting, and since they are large it has been put off for a good 6 months now. I keep looking at them and that has been as far as it got. Need to get them done this year!

I have a stack of UFOs waiting for the FMQ. I'd like to get at least a couple of those off the pile. A couple need borders yet and then I could sandwich them up. I will put a couple on the frame to practice on something not that important.

I have 2 Bonnie Hunter wall hangings in process, in addition to her current mystery quilt.

I have a Celtic applique that needs the border.

I have 2 more sets of blocks that need to be made into tops.

I think that's all that are actually in progress. I also have a bunch of kits that aren't started yet, and a stack of fabric to sew into clothes.

I think my #1 wish-to-finish in 2011 would be the clothes. Then I'll have room for more quilty stuff! :)

I do have several tops finished, Now to get them totally finished. One thing I really have to focus on this year will be 2 wedding quilts for grandsons. Finding the "perfect" pattern will be challenging. I keep looking at all of your beautiful quilt pictures and I say "Maybe that one!"

Out of at least 40 UFO's/WIP's/Block sets that I can think of, there are 3 that I really really really want/need to work on and get completed.

I'm working on a baby quilt, but just started a week and a half ago. I am down to the last row of blocks in the border and it could be ready to sandwich tomorrow. I have a paper pieced one almost done on the design wall. I need to make four appliques, and decide if I want to sash it. It's within a few days of ready to sandwich. Kind of tedious and I did good work on it, so it's been hanging in limbo a month or two now until I get my groove back on it. I don't want to mess it up now!

I have another top ready to sandwich, but it was back from the very early days when I was just learning. I may not ever finish it as a quilt. LOL. It's pretty, primitive and supposed to look that way and I think I'll back it and use it as a curtain to a closet in the sewing room.

So ......... no, I'm feeling pretty smug. This is as caught up as I have been in four years. LOL. I could finish everything up in a week or two.

I have two quilt lurking in my mind.......wanting to get out. But, I'm not going to start them until I get the other stuff cleaned up.

When DH got me the mid-arm and frame his only condition was to make a quilt that would stay in our house. I gotta get that done. Fabrics are purchased and washed. Not sure I have enough (it's a scrappy batik), but can purchase more if needed.

What a great question! And it's a good way to help us get focused on 'that thing we want to finish'.

I have a few projects started and dozens on the To Do list but there are two things I really want to get done. One is the Fun and Done picnic quilt I'm making with Kaffe Fassett strips. I need it for the first Wine Fest Jazz Night at the botanical gardens this year!
The other plan is to finally get to dyeing my own fabric.

I remembered this morning that I have a huge top done that needs to be quilted. It's 5 ft by 10 ft...going to hang on my living room wall above the slider doors.

I'm going to finish that sucker this year!

I'd like to finish the quilt (carpenter's star) for my dh, but I have to learn how to FM and I'd love to learn how to do feathers. I have 2 quilts I'm working on and are close to finishing them. I'd also love to start a cathedral window quilt. I have the linen fabric, I just need to get cutting on it. Then on to new projects!

I have two Double Wedding Ring Quilts that I picked up at two different garage sales a while back.Both were only partly done, all the pieces were there. Just who ever started them ran out of steam or more likely died and the remaining family had no desire to finish the quilts. I'd like to get them done and on the beds.

I also have a bunch of misc. quilt squares that I've found in stashes of fabric I've bought over the years at garage sales. I'd like to get them all together and assembled into one large quilt.

Reading over all these post, looks like everyone has their work cut out for a while... would be fun to check back and see how well everyone did on their projects.

My first project for 2011 is to finish my Double Wedding Ring quilt that I started in a class in 2008. I planned to make it for DD but she changed her mind on the colors she wanted. I made an appointment with a long-arm quilter for November 2011 to do this quilt. She quilted the DWR quilt for DD for me last July and the 11/11 date was the earliest time she had available to do another DWR. I have been planning to wait until after the holidays and then concentrate on finishing this DWR.

I seem to be falling farther behind instead of catching up! But by the looks of some of the other posts, I'm not alone in the room!:)
I'd like to get a few queen-sized quilts done that were started back when I had the shop - I have all the fabric except for one top - didn't know for the longest time how to assemble/complete it w/the limited amount of fabrics I had. (the fabric line was discontinued before I was half into it, d___!)
And now the group I quilt w/once a week (if I'm lucky to have a day w/out kids! lol) want to do a block of the month type that was featured in a magazine recently. It's pretty neat, & I'd love to do it, but don't have a clue who it would go to when it's done! I prefer to know the 'who' before I start -- it helps w/fabric choices!
But first I have to get past strep throat - my 1st bout ever! This is the first I've been off the couch since my trip to the Dr's for a shot of penicillin. Poor DH had to fix his own dinner - & even made me an egg & toast - what a dear! (Guess I'll keep him LOL) Not the best way to begin a new year, but hopefully tomorrow I'll feel well enough to sew - right now I'm about ready to crawl back to the couch - vertical isn't that fun:)

I want to finish my applecore. Should be no problem...theoretically.

I have several WIP but none have a "date" on them. They get worked on as the mood hits. I do have one thing I would like to do this year but haven't started yet. I want to make my sister a bed quilt. I mentioned it to her recently and asked her to get back to me with what she would like, I know it has to be a "woodsy" with nature theme but need her imput to start collecting. Beyond that impusle rules.

I have so many things started and not finished! I would like to finish the tabecloth for my sister-in-law that I began a year ago and 2 Christmases have got in the way of finishing it! It was a surprise, so whenever it's done will be OK, but would like it out of the way so I can make one for myself! I want to make an International tablecloth with fabric I've been gathering from all around the world from friends and also a "Memories of Japan Wallhanging" from my year spent teaching English in Japan.This wall hanging is half done. These 3 things to be completed - plus my Birthday Block Quilt -4 things - that would be great! Then there are always the usual gifts for friends and family members throughout the year as well .....

For starter, I'd like to finish my batik quilt for our daughter. I just need to decide what pattern to use for the corner blocks. I have the colors picked but not pattern. Then start to plan for using all the beautiful blocks I won in the monthly lotto. Two wins!! That will be fun. Of course I will then have master sending pictures, I hope!
Then there's all the blocks I have made with all the strips I bought in RI this summer. I got the pattern on Quiltville one of my favorite sites for scrappy patterns.
I also have plans and some of the fabric for a quilt for the youngest GS who will graduate high school this year.
Wow, I'm getting tired writing about it, maybe I should get started sewing!

Like many of you I have several projects to work on in 2011:

1. get some baby quilts done for my Etsy shop; one top is finished, another Bubble quilt and a larger, bright scrappy throw top is also finished.

2. finish the Animal Crackers top I started this weekend for the new GD of my college friends (this is quilt #6 for their grands! isn't it time these two girls stopped having babies?)

3. finish 2 UFO throw quilts for my sons, tops are done

4. finish my Maple Leaf quilt (throw/wall)

5. continue to make Swapper's Star blocks in blues for my next bed quilt (my 2010 Birthday Block)

6. try to get a start on the clothing fabrics that I have in my stash!

Ohhhhh.....I'm tired already!

I have 2 that I've been working on bits and pieces for a couple years now and really want to finish this year. Both are meant to be gifts in December ...

1. Tablecloth. Doing an "Around the World" pattern using vinyard and grape fabrics. I'm stuck because I ran out of one of the fabrics and haven't found it again in the local stores to replace it.

2. I'm doing an "I Spy" for a neice Alphabet style with each block symbolizing a letter and there are some letters that have been IMPOSSIBLE to find fabric for, lol! J and N are more difficult than I had imagined they would be. O is hard (I was thinking octopus or something, but havent found anything). Q (Queen, Question mark ... but nothing in the store). Y (I had originally hoped for Yoda, but soon realized that if I ever found anything with a Y, I'd be thrilled!). And I guess I expected X to be hard ... still not sure what to do about it. Was thinking X-Ray and using a halloween bones type fabric but never found anything quite appropriate.

Anyways, of all my ideas and projects, these are the 2 I really REALLY want to get finished by next December and give as gifts.

The next quilt will be a denim rag quilt. I've never made a rag quilt before and am just itching to make one (or 2, or 3.) I've been collecting denim for it and am eager to get started.

I also want to make a crumb quilt and maybe quilt as you go.
