If anyone is still checking this thread, I had Fiberon Horizons Ipe (distributed at the time by CertainTeed under the name "Evernew PT") installed for my front porch/deck about 3 years ago. No warping, separating, or problem mold/mildew, and the dark color is holding very well. Only maintenance is to blow it off periodically with a leaf blower and scrub it with dish soap every fall. There is one small scratch, not really noticeable unless inspecting closely. We'll see if the 20 or 25 year warranty (can't remember) plays out, but so far Fiberon Horizons remains a strong recommend from me. The dark color and wood-like appearance, plus warranty and competitive price, sold me originally.

Here is my original post from last May: I sure wish someone who has a Fiberon deck "on the ground" would report in. We picked up a sample board and put in next to the Ipe porch floor, looks almost the same. And it feels good. And is supposed to be non-slip. I guess someone has to be first, trying to work up the nerve........... So I worked up the nerve despite our builder's reluctance to try something we couldn't see actually installed anywhere. So far so good. Unless people are just being polite, everyone says it looks terrific...Must add we also used it for a bench and the flooring in an outside shower and it looks brand new. It does NOT look like Ipe, it's lighter and despite being perfectly smooth has a grained or wavy look. Don't know how to post pictures, but will work on it!

I had the same deliema, our bay window had vinyl siding on it and when we screened in the porch I didnt want to replace the siding, so we put 1x4 tongue and groove and it looks great!!! It make it feel like an interior wall now. You can see a picture of it in the posting (Screened in porch finally finished) its the one with the ceiling fan, the back wall is what had siding on it. We painted it a light green and I am very happy with the out come.
