302 pounds lost. My weight watcher buddy reached her goal

weight. Without liquid diets, surgery, medications,

without cutting entire food groups from her life. Just

weight watchers and exercise. Amazing. All WW is, is a

support group and an "easy" way to count calories, fat, fiber, carbs.

Their point system really is easy. And

the meetings. We have a GREAT leader and a GREAT group

that shares. I lost 125 lbs. Unfortunately I gained back

45 with chemo.. but that;s coming off again. slowly

but surely.

She/we set her/our mind to it, changed our lifestyles,

portion control, mindful eating and moving. Life is good.

I am so very impressed with this young lady. I'm so

happy for her.

Oh my goodness.....how amazing! 302 pounds....Wow! She looks like a totally different person. I agree, support is key. And it IS a lifestyle change. I'm very proud of you too Mz. Kat! 125 is nothing to sneeze at! I've got 20 I need to lose and I wish we lived closer so we could Zumba together!

Wow! That's great! What an uplifting story and testament. You're doing great too Kat. Just hang in there because you'll reach your goal. Life IS good.

I have a long time friend that lost 160 with weight watchers in the 70's and she's maintained her goal weight since then. It's definitely a healthy lifestyle and healthier life.

Amber- great site!! Tony- I knew I liked you for more then just your tomatoes! Seriously I carry most of my weight in the middle which I can usually hide pretty well. Minus the 3 times this year people have asked me if I was pregnant. 7 years ago I weighted 105 which was great!! I don't ever expect to get that small again nor am I trying. But I would like to get down to around 120-125. I love to eat, especially sweets. And the holidays are almost here and I LOVE to bake!!!!!! So this is going to be interesting. I am trying to get in more exercize. So hopefully that will help. I agree that weight watchers is expensive. So I won't be going to anymore meetings. I mainly went to get the point counter card. We have a new addition to the family. We are proud foster parents of a 15 yr old girl. We already new her through some friends. She was in a horrible situation so we took her in and now I think it is going to be permanent. We shall see. Anyways we are definately watching our money.

I just started back on WW this morning. Like Blueheron, I don't go to meetings, but I do have the book and points calculator. I also did a website with an online calculator and links to some sites with points listings. You are all welcome to click here WW Points, etc. Last night I didn't want to cook, so for the 2nd night this week I picked up a chicken strip basket from the local Dairy Queen. While eating it and feeling really stuffed, I remembered that it contains more points than I'm allowed in an entire day! That's what spured me into starting back with WW today. All my clothes are tight and uncomfortable! I would like to lose about 15-20 lbs. It's good to see some WW interest here, so lets keep a WW post going each week.

As many have said - you've got to be serious about it ... and you're the only one that can do it. One of life's important guidelines is to get more bang for your buck ... so why help fatten WW's coffers? What about putting together a group yourself recruited among folks in various agencies or groups in which you participate, e.g. social, political, religious or sport, etc. and agreeing to meet regularly, and to do your weighing yourselves? Dare I say, "religiously"? The benefit? No fees ... or you could collect some and send the money through some agencies which feed hungry kids in various areas of the world, for thousands die there daily due to lack of food - or poor health, with minimal medical service available. 5%? 10%? of the world is worried/obsesses about being overweight ... while over 50% is hungry. If there's a God ... how do you think that S/He may feel about such a situation? Or about so many of the people who claim to follow Him/Her not doing a great deal more than collecting for food hampers for local needy at Christmas (e.g. massive re-arrangments of the world's economy with a view to greater fairness, more people getting a decent diet)? This issue of overweight, and bad diet (with many more of our kids being overweight than in earlier generations, and more suffering from diabetes) can be potentially life-restricting (even -threatening) for many in our society ... ... but it's immediately life-threatening for millions in many parts of the world ... especially in areas where they've been suffering for several successive years of drought recently. Surplus food hurts us - the lack of it kills them. This is a major part of the reason that our world is as sick as it is. I am sorry that I feel the need to rain on your parade, ladies. ole joyful

Very true. I can lose 5lbs in a week. Loss of inches is more significant than loss of lbs anyway. A person will gain nearly .5 just from drinking 8oz of water. If you weigh yourself in the morning, you will weigh less than in the afternoon. Your DH can worry all he likes about you ballooning up like so-and-so, but that's like worrying you'll turn into an alcoholic because you had two beers after dinner instead of one. The weight isn't the real issue. It can't be. And if it is, pardon me, but your DH is an idiot. If you're that concerned, walk an extra 1/2-1 hour a day. Drink more water. Eat more leafy greens and whole grains and the 5lb will drop off in no time. But the stress of worrying about it is more damaging to your health than the actual weight. I would be worried more about the remarks he is making to you to make you lose interest in your sex life. That's a detriment to your losing weight too. Sex is a great workout!

She must feel wonderful, and you too! I think WW is the best system out there. I've lost the same 20 lbs. many times with WW. So hard to keep it off.

I met her at the meeting. She had already lost well
over 100 pounds when I met her.
