Sear's range...If you have one you might wish to read this.

According to Clark Howard, Sears has a recall for ranges sold since 2000. Seems they are front heavy and if not correctly bolted in, can tip forward.

Thank you for posting. This is a major safety issue that many people are not aware of. A good friend of mine lost a child when he stepped on the bottom drawer of a dresser to reach for something and it toppled onto him. I think I saw a family on Oprah a few years back that also lost a child when the child tried to climb a range to see what was cooking and it toppled onto that child. I don't think the problem is isolated to just Sears ranges, but a widespread problem that too little people know about.
Bottom Line... if you have small children, bolt all top heavy items to the wall-- TV's, dressers, ranges, china cabinets... Protect your children. You can fix a whole in a wall, but not in your heart- those are the words of my friend that lost his child to such a tradgedy.

That is interesting......I bought my range from Sears but did not have them install it. I happened to notice on my paperwork that it said "installation does not include mounting of anti-tip bracket." I thought that was an odd thing to exclude from installation, and now it makes sense to me that they are getting sued.

Larry, I tried everything I could think of, including just pasting your profile, and no type of code would work, link, bold, no HTML. At the very least, I'd like to be able to make the font big enough to see. I only looked at the part of the code that is in the text box. Is there anything else you changed somehow? Do you know anyone else with a profile with code in it? Paul's profile used to be jazzed up and no longer is. Maybe someone is disabling them manually.

A couple observations on this rose: It appears to be identical to what we grow as "Morgan Spring," another found name for a found rose by Frances Grate. Also, this is a rose that Liz Druitt recommended putting on your head, early in the morning, then wearing a hat over it for a while, to develop a powerful myrrh fragrance. It only works in the morning. Finally, while this rose is called a Noisette, and I certainly don't have a better suggestion for a class for it, I would say that its growth habit is quite unlike that of any other rose I've ever grown -- those huge, open panicles of flowers with the extra-long pedicels. I wish there were some truly comparable other varieties.

Don't jump to spend a bunch of money on something you don't need. Perlins probably are not as much of a factor as the diameter of your arch poles. Regardless, you should get a portable propane heater and plan to run it during heavy snow fall. Also a broom with an extension handle duct taped onto it. Don't plan to travel in the middle of a snowstorm. My biggest problem has always been the pressure that sliding snow puts on the plastic at the sides. If you feel you want extra perlins your cheapest bet would be to buy the 1.66" galvanized, swagged poles at Lowes and purchase cross-connectors from your nearest greenhouse supply center. The 10' poles will give you better weight distribution strength than the hammered end 4' connecting perlin pipes that come fron many greenhouse suppliers. I install extra perlins so I can position them for my tomato rows (drop string line from perlin to support plants).

I find the "bad" information going around about carnivorous plants to be some of the worst out there. It's hard to understand why common sense wouldn't prevail, or someone wouldn't think to ask, "but why?" Seriously, a lot of new growers come here 1st for information/help about their first, new, carnivore. This is a problem in the fact that there really aren't many experienced growers here to help, most of us/them are at other forums. So we've not noobs giving advice to noobs for the most part. What can you do but jump in when you can and correct people. I rarely come here or post much (had another username years ago,) but clearly you three (dethcheez, tommyr, and hunterkiller03) are some of the very few knowledgeable growers that still come here, and have been growing for years. You put up with some of the worst posts I've ever seen from either children or adults who cannot possibly fathom how to "google" an answer to the most basic of questions. I don't know how you do it without a lot of smacking your heads against a wall!?!?! You have 1000x more patience than I. Please continue to stick around, you're clearly needed. Thanks for reading guys...carry on!

I bought one in November and they were insistent on installing it with the anti-tip bracket. I really didn't want it, but they wouldn't install without it. Another caution on the Sears ranges (and maybe some others) - the ones that have the vent holes by the oven handles allow spills to drip into the space between the oven door glasses. It required a repairman to clean - and still is visible. I'm going to insist on a new door.
