Comments (4)What's the objective of a new color scheme? Is there a homeowner? I ask because color consultants start with the people who live in the home. What they like and want to keep. What they don't like. What do they want their house to "say" from the curb and how their home can be made to reflect something about them and who they are. For example, if you go blue on that house, it's going to be a complementary color scheme which means hard lines of contrast and a bold vibe. Which is markedly different from the current color scheme that's a quite blend of analogous colors. So, we go back to the homeowner and what they want - bold or quite. If you're flipping or something, then it's best to pull colors from existing elements so it's a cohesive color palette that sends a message of pulled-together and well-done....See MoreRequesting your assistance for Greige warm paint color w/o green/blue
Comments (13)Sometimes decorating around what is often a "design mistake" is a 2nd mistake. If one does not like the first mistake, the 2nd won't somehow neutralize it. I once had a client who carpeted the entire, LARGE first floor of her house with rust, somewhat "shady" wool carpet. A VERY expensive mistake and one she should not have tried to decorate around. She finally gave in and had it taken up, to her husband's great chagrin. A mistake is a mistake. I'd save my money and replace those floors before doing anything else....See Moreexterior door design assistance request
Comments (8)Patricia, Thank you for your question please see the architects drawing attached. In the drawing you’ll see a brick pattern. That is our current house. The part that is setback is the new part of the house. The brick is red brick like in the picture with the full glass. Shutters are black. We need to select Hardie plank color for the siding on the new part of the house and door color for both doors shown in the photo. Our most pressing issue is selecting door color for door that is set back. It will be up against the Hardie siding color, which we also need to select. Eventually we will need to select colors for the front door. We can paint existing front door whatever color we want. We will want this to stand out. So, to summarize, main questions are: what should the Hardie siding be? What color should the side door be? Thanks so much, Lora...See MoreWall Paint Color Assistance
Comments (4)When you are finished with the dirty part of remodelling, have the old tile floors professionally cleaned and sealed. They will be lighter and brighter. Match the new white paint to the white tiles or use a new color paint based on your fabric upholstery....See Morerandita
