Comments (41)Bonniee, thank you for the link, Rays looks like a great place to shop for bedding....wish they were in FL:) Was there a brand name to your bedding? I would be interested in looking at a brand name website to check dimensions of their bedding. We just bought a new mattress set and my old comforter is not long enough....it needs to be at least a few more inches to make it nicely past the top edge of the box spring. These new mattresses so tall....its crazy. I hate to go custom, but most of the stores carry comforters that are made to fit standard size or the older size mattress depths. So buying something in a department store has not worked out for me. At least I am back to a standard size bedskirt. Our last mattress set we bought 10 years ago, had a 9 inch box spring, the bedskirt had to be custom. Now my box spring is normal and the mattress is too tall. A friend suggested a duvet, but I am not sure if that would be longer on the sides to cover the mattress. Thanks again for the link, I might call them to see if they can email me some pictures of any thing they have that might fit....See MoreSW Blonde, Pics please
Comments (20)Princesssusan--I was in search of "that color" too! I think I tested about 25 varying shades/versions of that color. My favorites, though quite different from each other were BM 'Audubon Russet' (but too dark for where I was going to use it--a basement room) and Laura Ashley 'Spice' (you can find a paint chip at Lowe's), which won out, matched in SW paints. 'Spice' is what I call a "dusty pumpkin" color. The 'Audubon Russet' would more probably match the color of the building in your picture as it's a dusty brownish brick color. When I tried lighter "versions" of AR, they were too pink, according to my husband.....so that's why we ended up with a lighter, but more orange, color. On my monitor, the upper left paint chip you have looks similar to my 'Spice'. I'm about ready to give my kitchen a paint job, and the first color my husband suggested was 'Spice', and after trying other samples, I think it will be used there too. By the way, I'm a HUGE 'Blonde' fan and would like to use it in my kitchen, but I don't know how well it would go with gray (color of my countertops) or the soft smokey gray of the walls in the adjacent great room. Comments (15)I have Blonde in my 3rd (spare) bedroom and Ivore in my 2 story front hallway. I have had both paints for about 3 years and both have faded/lighted slightly since we painted, so I would give it time. At first I didn't like the Blonde either, but now I totally love it. It also didn't take that long for it to lighten a bit. Once you get towels and accessories in there it will make a world of difference. IMO, going with darker towels like the eggplant and cranberry will make the Blonde brighter. In my spare bedroom (the one with the Blonde color) I had a sage comforter and ivory silk flowers and it was a very mellow room. I recently changed it to a very bright comforter (Pottery Barn Nora, which has a white background with bright red and orange flowers) and red silk flowers and I couldn't believe the difference - it looked like we had repainted again! So if you're looking to tone it down, go with the sage towels. I also love the Ivore in our front hall. Not a HUGE difference from the Blonde, but just enough. We get a ton of compliments on our color choices. The Ivore is a much creamier color than the Blonde. If after a while you still don't like the brightness of the Blonde, but still like the general color, you can repaint but have a new gallon of Blonde tinted 25% or 50% lighter. I did that with another color in my house and it turned out perfect. If you want to have Ivore in your bedroom and Blonde (or a shade of it) in the bathroom, the transition will be great. I personally wouldn't get red and green bedding for the bedroom if you are going with a lighter color (ie. light green towels) for the bath. I like it when the master bedroom/bath have similar color schemes. I am sorry I don't have a pictures to post as we are leaving for vacation later today. If you are still undecided I can take some next week when we get back. :)...See MorePaint dilemma? Color to paint walls to go with SW Moderate White Trim
