Help needed with furniture layout in kitchen

I need help figuring out what to do with the layout in my mom's kitchen. She's doing a minor update and wants a change and has asked for my help.

Right now there is a table right in the middle of the room and a tall, narrow cabinet in the upper left corner by the windows that houses a TV and a pull-out garbage can. That cabinet is going. Before my parents added the deck, the sliding door was a window and there was a little seating area in that corner. Now, with the sliding door that gets used often, that area is just kind of wasted space.

My mom is retired and spends most of her time in the kitchen. It has the best light and she's always going in and out of the house to the yard. Also, she and my dad hang out in the kitchen as do guests when they come to visit for coffee or a drink to chat.

There is a ceiling fixture above the window corner as well as one in the main part of the room. The cabinets marked 10 and 11 are glass doored cabinets that she is now using to display her red glass dishware. The counter (1, 2, 3) below it has the telephone and cabinetry she uses for storage. That stretch of cabinetry is used more like a hutch and is not used to cook.

The dining room is a formal dining room and is only used for family gatherings.

She is not looking to rearrange cabinets or walls, but wants to utilize the space better. I wish I had pictures to post, but maybe the floorplan will get us started with ideas.

TIA!
