Comments (20)buehl-- I'm in Northern VA, but we have done the gamut of places here. Apparently, NSI in Glen Burnie is great, but expensive. We trekked to Avanti in Fredrick last weekend. You need an appointment on Saturdays, but they are open the rest of the week w/o an appointment. They had a great selection and were wonderful pulling slabs and such for us. In Virginia, we really like Eurostone and DalTile Stone. They are along the Rt 28 corridor and within about 20 minutes of each other. Both were very service oriented and had great selections. At Dal, the plant manager walked every stinking aisle with me with my cabinet door, helping me refine my thoughts, pulling slabs from the backs of piles, and really going out of his way to help. If you just want to wander and look, without help at all, try Marble Systems in Merrifield, VA (just off the beltway). They are low customer service, but they have a great selection to peek at....See MoreGreat granite dealer near Avon/Spring Lake NJ
Comments (19)I took a ride to American Granite today. What a difference in the showroom compared to Benchmark. Carlos and Rebecca were both helping me, and very nice. I saw one that I liked with the colors of my cabinets and floor. I'm doing a small condo kitchen that's across the street from the beach, that I'm moving to as my primary residence. The granite I saw was Juparana Columbo, it reminded me of the sand when it get the dark grey streaks in it. I like the slab, they only had one (which is all I need) that was in the light muted colors. All the others with the same name were from a different lot and were much darker and a redish peach. I'm just not sure I like the pattern of the slab. I took pictures, and thought I had a picture of the whole slab, but I only got parts of it. I wonder if Carlos would be able to take a picture of the whole slab and email it to me. Asked about a sink, and was told it would be about $200.00 additional. Benchmark was including a 16 gauge SS D-sink. Has anyone heard of AW Eurostile in Ocean or a place in Shrewsbury (not sure of the name)? I'm trying to avoid going to OHM, I think it might be too overwhelming, and I'll never be able to make a decision. I'd rather stay with smaller places. I'll try to attach pictures, let me know what you think. Thanks for your help. Here is a link that might be useful: granite juparana columbo...See MoreSome missing threads
Comments (11)Wow, buehl, that was a lot of work for you to do--thank you so much! Taking off w/ ttosh's comment, does anyone know if GardenWeb is *planning* to change to a different forum/whatever (how's that for techie talk?! LOL)? As frustrating as it is for us posters/readers, sure seems to be just as frustrating to them, as well as a ton of work for them to have to keep doing...and redoing...and redoing... And then what? Does it finally just crash and burn for good? Don't even wanna go there!...See MoreOur Fabricator has Shut! Need Philly/ Bucks Co/ Princeton Recs!
Comments (6)Hi, I remembered I listed all the places we tried before I made the decision on garden web and found the link. Here are the other places we looked! Good luck! K2 in Lower Moreland (K-2 International 2381 Philmont Ave, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 http://www.k2graniteandmarble.com) or Suburban Marble and Granite (1010 Pulinski Road Warminster, PA 18974-1522 (215) 734-9100) both have lots of marble. Suburban is expensive. K2 is only a distributer but you can go look and find a fabricator that they work with to give you a price. I have been dealing with Istanbul (315 E Street Road Warminster, PA Phone:(215) 444-9773). Their prices seem pretty reasonable compared to Suburban's prices. We also like dealing with Let's Get Stoned in Warrington, PA. We also went to a yard in Cranbury, NJ that had lots of marble....See Moreannie.zz
