Walnut cabinets are in -- need help with pull placement, please
Comments (20)I like the horizontal pulls too, centered vertically on drawers, 3" from the top/bottoms to line up with your top drawer pulls. Another option: we're going with Berenson finger pulls. They're not beefy, but GREAT minimalist pulls. Comments (5)The very similar Amerock cup pulls that I have on my printer stand are the same. It has to be this way because there is no depth at that point on the front for the screw threads to go into. To have the necessary depth without a projection, the screws would have to be moved toward the center of the cup where they would reduce the amount of finger space. The projection allows the screw threads space to grab onto the pull in the wall of the drawer allowing the body of the pull in front of the drawer face to be thin. It isn't a significantly greater commitment than other pulls. If some time in the future you wanted to replace these pulls with something with the same screw placement but no projections, plugs could be glued into the big holes and a smaller hole for the screw drilled into the plugs. The body of the new pull would probably cover the plug since any screw is going to need something about that wide to screw into....See MoreCup Pulls for shallow drawers
Comments (13)Thanks everyone for your help. Tearose you're right . . . not a big enough deal to drive myself crazy over it. Momj thanks for the suggestion but, although I like glass cup pulls and glass knobs, I have a different vision. I really like shiny polished chrome hardware. Positano your photos are deceiving. I would never have thought you have 3" on your shallow drawers for hardware, especially where you have a four drawer bank! Peyton I think our best solution is to either put drawer pulls or knobs on our shallow drawers. Unless, of course, we can find bin pulls that come in appropriate sizes (smaller for shallow drawers and larger for deeper drawers) with enough depth to be easy to grab onto. Sigh. I am getting tired of all this and can't wait for it to be over. Today they are finishing the demolition so I still have a ways to go....See MoreNeed cup pull HEIGHT info please
Comments (3)1.5" high, 3" wide, and here's a (grainy) pic to help. Look at the cup pull in the bottom right of this pic. I have narrow stiles (I think that's the word -- the raised part on a classic Shaker cab, although mine aren't classic). I wanted a cup pull on the trash pullout located immediately left of the sink, although in retrospect perhaps a bar pull would have been better, because it takes up the whole stile....See Morejenswrens
