I think your kids' pictures would look nice in place of where the flower pictures currently hang. I like the triangle arrangement. I also think your flower pictures would look good in place of the candle holder (although I really like that candle holder!). I do think they pull together your color scheme.

I'm not a fan of the triangle arrangement with the photos but I do think they'll look great on that wall.

I also like where you're planning on moving the flower pics to but, have you considered a grouping something like this? I like how it keeps the element of 'black' going in the foyer and I think it gives the flower pics a little more visual weight.

With the flower pic the size they are, I think they are best displayed in a vertical postion. Horizontally, I think they are too small for the wall. So yes to the flowers by the stairs. Not sure of the kid pics because I don't care for them lined up horizontally because they look too small that way. The triangle is better, but I would like to see a bigger picture along with them, still in the black frame with the others in a different configuration around it. Hard to explain, but the three lined up doesn't seem to have great visual impact. That wall can support a bit more than just the three pics.

If you don't already have a coat rack... how about a long black shelf with coat hooks? The kids pictures could sit on the shelf instead of hang. The shelf in the link is made from baseboard and crown mouldings... pretty easy to make a custom length.

I prefer the candle holder over the floral prints, although it does seem a little small for the space.

I like the idea of a shelf too altough I don't see myself hanging coats, looks cute in Pottery Barn but looks cluttered in my house :)

Do you think if I got a black bench, would the shelf have to be black or is white ok?

As far as the other side I held the candleholder up with the two pictures and I think it looks too crowded but then I thought about this little wall on the other side of the door, maybe that will help balance it?

I can't believe no one else has asked this yet, but what is the gorgeous color on your walls? I can see it's newly painted and it's looks so much better than the previous color.

msrose- Do you mean from the first picture in the post? I didn't paint, that is Laura Ashley Gold 4, been on my walls for 3 years now.

Excellent idea for the prints on the other wall -- and the candleholder on the smaller wall! Well done! :)

The bench could be either white or black -- each color would look really really wonderful in your hallway!

msrose- Yes your right about the stairs. I was sampling a color for the stair area, it is LA Gold 2, two shades lighter than what is in the Foyer.

Wondering if the shelf and bench have to be the same color or can they be different? Would a mahogany /deep red wood for the self but and a black or white bench work? I'm thinking no. But not sure about black shelf with black bench and black frames??? MAybe white shelf, black bench?

I'd use the same color for both the shelf and the bench. I think with the white mats on the frames, it wouldn't be too much black.

Here are a few inspiration photos. I do realize that you don't want coat hooks... but all the good pictures I found had them. :-)
