Excess Vermeculite - Any Other Uses Besides Mix?
Comments (6)Wondering if I fill the WS jugs up with 2" of potting soil and add another 1-2" of vermeculite?? Would that be too much for the seeds? What about the verm on the bottom and soil on top? nbacres, I wouldn't do that. It's too heavy and grainy, almost like glass shards, pretty light though. It would probably be better to mix it in; I'd guess 3:1 ratio potting soil to verm, or 2:1 might be ok, but my gut instincts tell me no except in very small quantities. It might work the way you suggested, but why take a chance? It does not retain enough moisture which seeds need whether they're planted on top or deeper. I just sprinkle a slight covering of vermiculite on the top if the instructions say to slightly cover. I'm not sure but what it encourages mold faster from my experience. On the bottom, I don't think the roots would be happy in it. Scatter it over the garden or lawn in smaller quantities if you want rid of it or mix it in planting holes, not too much to aerate the soil. In my first try at starting rose cuttings, I used 1/2 verm and 1/2 peat. Bad idea. Should have used 1/2 pearlite and 1/2 peat, use a planting medium now. Maybe somebody will have a better idea or you'll come up with something more useful and creative. I'm no expert though....See MoreNeed Cozy Reading Area for 7 yr old
Comments (32)Well wouldn't you know my luck...I have fallen in love with that Purple Chaise and Penney's website is saying it's not in stock (no future date given) Figures! I did find it on another website for the same price as Penney's but only in Pink. Look how cute it looked with the purple and a floor lamp I found on Ebay for only $54. So now I'm googling again. OR I could just get it in pink...hmmmm? THANKS for all your help everyone!...See MoreWhat color rug would look best?
Comments (17)I'd keep in mind the view into the kitchen - if white - doesn't hurt to pick neutrals, or a color, that you'd like to repeat in other area --https://www.amazon.com/Superior-Collection-Geometric-Anti-Static-Water-Repellent/dp/B01MCT4BW4/ref=pd_vtp_3?pd_rd_w=6mmR4&pf_rd_p=55cbb45e-2534-4809-9135-12f41eecb852&pf_rd_r=HEEXC2J3DRVJWDYAQQZN&pd_rd_r=6d477b29-703f-4746-8ef1-d6d89ffcf26c&pd_rd_wg=o2CNr&pd_rd_i=B01M63J8EI&th=1...See MoreHELP! Comments (5)You need to turn your sectional so it runs in front of the window and along the wall so you have more room walking in near the 42" wall. Post another photo once that is done. In the bedroom, you need a table lamp on the bedside table, or consider wall mounted sconces with directional light for each side of the bed. Do you have room to move the black dresser under the window? For a small room, it's better to try to use vertical height for storage, so you might consider replacing that dresser with a narrow, taller one. Mount the mirror on the wall to the left of the tv, so it's in a better position for use near your closet and is off the floor. If you don't want a headboard, you could use a quilt or large piece fabric on the wall behind the bed, or large pieces of art, or a dark color or wallpaper on that wall....See Moreannkh_nd
