Exceptional Pool Builders who build in Cleveland, OH area?

My wife and I are beginning the design stage of our custom home in the Cleveland suburbs. We would like to build a nice pool with the home that will provide a "view" and "focal point" in the backyard.

Upon doing a quick internet search for my area, I was only able to find one pool builder (High Tech Pools) that seems to have the accolades and a reputation to build luxury pools.

Are there any other companies that would build in the Cleveland area or will we have to rely on one company for bids?

I just finished day one of the pool dig.I started interviewing pool builders last November.

I used the yellow pages, internet, asked the locals who they used for a pool builder and even knocked on one door to see their fence & pool installation .
Most of those who appeared in the yellow pages were not listed on google. " You enter your address and do a search nearby "in ground pools" or gunite swimming pools or vinyl swimming pools"

Since the area we live in has massive rocks and a high water table I was concerned over installing a vinyl liner or fiberglass. The dogs will be using the pool so gunite was the best choice. I feared that the fiberglass would break with the hydrostatic pressure.
I did interview a vinyl liner pool installer . None of the liners would hold up to the nails of a one dog and I have three. The vinyl liner pool was only a few thousand less than the gunite.

I also googled the pool installers names to see what popped up on the internet. In asking about building codes and permits the town hall officials gave me the names of their installers. One name had a clean rep up until the last four years.

I also asked the pool supply stores for references.
I interviewed four companies over 4 months. One private pool builder asked me to submit my pool equipment preference, pool location, pool size and tile selection. Although the research took me two weeks to compile, I knew I wanted pentair , an aggregate plaster, and size of pool. I was more comfortable in the pool interviews knowing the products .

Check the internet for local Home shows. May seems to be the month where they host home improvement shows with roofers, generators, windows replacement, ID, pavers, any home professional one may need.

YOu can also google pool products such as Pebble tech . They list pool builders who use their products. Look at Pentair. Jandy or Hayward and see if they also list pool outfitters in your zip code.

Was wondering who were your finalists, who you went with and if you are happy. Looking into pools now in subbarbs of Cleveland. Asking chickadee as well as JC

Thanks. My fence was put in my Mike Bigham with BHT Fence in Charlotte. I opted for the design you can see without any additional horizontal crossrails. There was some debate about what 'officially' was up to pool safety codes in Union County, so out an abundance of caution I went with the one that was for sure up to code. Code believed to mean that there is 48' between crossrails. Either way, I liked the less obstructive view of fewer crossrails. The fence manufacturer is APG Meridian and is called Swedge Lock. It has no screws and no welds and is made in America. I guess there's been a big increase in Chinese aluminum and steel with other manufacturers and its likely to be inferior to the American made stuff. I put the fence fully surrounding my pool, then added the adjacent dog run area (that we sodded in the pictures). All told it came out to 240 linear feet of fence, three self-closing gates and one double gate so I can mow the dog run. All told around $5500. I'm not sure if big brother cared that much in my corner of Union County - but I felt better having it fenced in for the dog and any other random animal wandering through the back yard. So far, only a few small frogs and your standard assortment of bugs have made it into the pool. Here is a link that might be useful: Swedge Lock website

I am considering doing my own pool as well. I found Pool Warehouse, they build and send the walls and all items needed for quite a reasonable price. They have kits to pick from but also do custom. of course the one I have in mind needs to be custom and I am in the process of getting a quote. Hi gang: Well I have been out of town for a few days and believe it or not between the rain and being out of town, I have yet to take my first swim. The kids on the other hand have to be extracted with great force at the end of the day. My sons party went as planned, one short rain shower, but otherwise great. The water is now fairly balanced, they started the polaris (thank goodness..the dust was insane!), they plan on starting up the salt system in about a week. birdbath, I see you have been absent also....must be living in that water....thank you for the compliment, but yours is still the coolest pool I have ever seen. Moo....thanks....we are planning to build up the area behind the waterfall, make it into a berm with plantings and lots of color. We are also going to use river stones in that area....and behind that will be the completed extension of the wall. Should be starting that in the next 2-3 weeks. Smb....agreed our colors do look alike, it still amazes me how it changes throughout the day. I think we ended up somewhere between midnight blue and tahoe blue. Thank you, love yours also...are you getting to swim or does it still belong exclusively to the puppy ;) Well, I have the weekend off...so I think today will be first swim...its 89 out there and the water has warmed up to about 82....here are the pics in full sunlight for Birdbath. oops...heres the waterfall on....

No, the soil is just the excuse they are trying to use to not fix it. We will be heading to arbitration so it will all get resolved one way or the other. I know that Dallas is a different office and hopefully they are better folks. I just wanted to point out that a national builder with a "great" warranty doesn't always mean things will work out and to be sure that you understand what protection the contract does and doesn't give you.
