I think it's a great choice. Love the idea of stained concrete too.

Thanks Lukkiirish. I think we are leaning towards Mt. Rainer Gray BM on the walls. DH wants his crown molding, which I am not too sure about, but it is his room. With that said, I am thinking of painting the ceiling 50 to 75% lighter than the wall colors. Personally, I was thinking of warm toned colors, but I think a blue gray would work too.

Anybody else have thoughts?

I didn't realize the aggregate would show through so much in certain areas. It is interesting to see. Hopefully it will end up being very low maintenance.

I think the cooler colors will help to keep it brighter. I'm not familiar with that color but here's a photo of our slate which has warm colors in it with the light gray, our color leans towards both green and blue depending on the lighting but can at least help give you a visual.

Thanks a ton for the visual! It looks gorgeous. It confirms that this color direction will be good. I'll try and post photos when we are done.

Here are some progress photos. The room is trimmed out now and primed with BM Silver Cloud. My initial intent was to use that for the ceiling and then Mt Rainier Grey for the walls. Now, with the prime, it looks too cold. So, I'm going one further step down to BM Winter Lake and changing the ceiling color to BM Harbor Fog. With no natural light, it's tricky with these colors. I'll post more photos when we are complete.

I love those floors! Is there something special done to make the concrete ready to be stained?

There is some prep work before the concrete can be stained. I am thinking it will be the perfect solution to a "man cave"

The ceiling is now done, the walls will be darker, and the floor is uncovered.
