Which materials for poorly ventilated, full sun deck

I've just spent 3 hrs reading this very informative forum in the hope of figuring out what material to use to build a 16X28' deck that will be attached on 2 1/2 sides (28' and 16', plus some of the other 16') to the house. The area gets full sun from around noon on, in Rhode Island (water never far away), and currently has brick and concrete beneath. I can remove the brick if that helps in any way. To compound things the deck would be low, at 18" off the ground.

But it seems the composites get as hot as PT lumber, everything fades, and the more lumber the more the chances for rotting. Other than finding a concrete guy to pour a slab, what materials would you use?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
