Pretty house, must look wonderful with everything in bloom.
I like the red but I'm not a fan of matching garage doors.
I'd rather see the garage door in a color closer to the body of the house so that your attention is directed to the front door and windows.

Also, is there any reason you're not painting your sidelight? I feel that needs to be painted the same color as the door.
A nice big pot next to the door area on the porch would round out the entrance, imo.

Both are nice, but I think I prefer the earthiness of the dark red. I think that would be a nice contrast to your green plants. I wonder how it would look to paint the garage door the same color as the house itself, to kinda make it fade away? Might be a terrible idea, but just a thought!

One of my dilemas has been the garage door. When I photoshop it in a matching dirty white to the house, the photo looks so bland that is why I am having trouble.
My husband did not want to alter the cedar in sidelites or windows so he just redid the sidelite in cedar and he also put mullions in and it looks quite a bit better. but still wood. I hope I get some more answers on here because I am really baffled.

If you are married to the color of the house I would say to try a deep grey. If you were to paint your house a warm beige, I would say go with a deep brown. (To do the latter you would want to perhaps wait until the roof needed replacing, too.)

I too don't like to see garage doors appear more prominent than the house itself. You could think about a slightly darker version of the field color for the garage door and trim. Aside from that, I like the red or a more exciting blue. Your current blue looks too lackluster by itself.

You could also paint the trim under the roof for more pizazz. Black would be another accent color I would explore. It might brighten up the stucco.

I also like the red much better but I would paint the garage door to match the house. I never liked my door a different color. If you need some of the "red" in the garage you can just paint the trim around the door and the door the same color as the house.
I would also like the shutters and trim in either a black or dark grey with the door a bright red.

I have added two more photos trying to incorporate some ideas you have mentioned.
One is with the garage in a whitish like house and the other is trying the dark gray shutters and garage.

I think the grey looks a little boring. I would go back to the red or try: black shutters, black trim around garage door, house color on garage door, and red door.

OK, this has to be the worst virtual ever. I'm sorry. I happy to think it's OK on some houses to paint the garage door to match other trim. It depends on the house. On yours I think it looks perfectly fine. I did do a virtual with just the trim part painted. Not the way I really wanted to, but I don't have the time it takes to do it right now.
I think it would be neat to paint your chimney to match the trim. Since I can't see the side of your house I really don't know if this idea would work.

The color red your choose is rather brick like and I think it would be neat to paint the front porch in a bit lighter shade then the trim and then faux it to look like brick with other shades of the brick red. Actually a good way to do that would be to get a few sponges in the size and shape of the brick and just paint over the porch leaving the cement as the grout lines then seal it.
I'd also add more wood trim around your front door and sidelite so they look as one unit.
Adding brick trim to the edges of your flower gardens and painting your arbor as is your trim would bring the color around the yard too.
Just a thought. I wish I had a really good program to make good virtuals I hope you can visualize what I'm trying to get acrossed here.

I really like the dark red on the shutters and the front door. I also vote to have the garage door the same color as the house.

I like the grey, and would do this: darken it some for the shutters, and lighten it some for the garage door. Paint the door a red a bit brighter than you have, above, and plant red flowers and white flowers in your beds (geraniums, begonias, salvia, petunias, etc.

I would also add window boxes and plant them with essentially the same plant material you use in the beds for a finished look.

I am not married to either idea yet so if anyone else wants to chime in , I am all ears.

I love the grey! It's such a clean look.

I hope your husband changes his mind about painting the sidelight after seeing the pics.
