Help! Buying a Pool Heater

I have an above ground Splash pool, I believe it is approximately 17 x 30 (rectangle). I've been doing research like crazy and just can't seem to find a pool heater that stands out above others. It seems for every review I find that says the heater is great, I find one that says it is terrible! I'm also a little confused about how big of one I need - when I've done a few of the calculations, it seems like 175,000 is plenty, but I see others with pools of similar size that are getting 300,000 or 400,000. I'm looking for a propane one - we live in the country, so getting a bigger tank is not a problem.

I live in Illinois and it seems like the pool is always about 5 degrees too cold to be comfortable. It usually runs about 78 - 82 and on a good day, gets up to 85. I'd like a heater to help bump it to 85 - 88 on days when we are having people over. There's nothing worse than planning a pool party and then the water is too cold for anyone to swim!!

So, my questions for everyone...

- What BTU do I really need given my needs outlined above?

- I'm looking at these heaters as I've narrowed things down. Interested in thoughts either way or suggestions for others!
