We picked a pink called "Twine" from Rhodda. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures because we've moved. It was a great pink- not too pale or too bright. It was also in a south facing bedroom, which brightens it a bit.

Hi - take a look at General Paint Wanted & Rosy Future - on same swatch. It is a definite greyed plum pink so if she doesn't care for plum she won't care for these. Have fun!

I used BM Fairest Pink in the bathroom. After using SW Make Your Head Spin pink in dd's bedroom (maybe that wasn't really the name, but it should have been ;) I wanted something a bit more soothing.

How about matching the color of some real ballerina slippers or toe shoes?

The color of ballet slippers is too pale, although her pointe shoes will be hanging on the wall!

I guess my problem with this is that I don't know what she is picturing in her head. I only know she doesn't want baby pink, raspberry, or fuschia. I think she wants something that is medium-toned and sophisticated and hip. UGH!

beache - I suspected the slipper color would be too pale, but it is sophisticated imo. Well, since she knows what she doesn't want (half the battle), cruise through the gallery with her as oceanna suggested, then take that girl to the paint store to look at samples! It's great that you are allowing the vision in her head to become reality.

In my response above, I sat here and deabated with myself whether the correct term was pointe shoes or toe shoes. Now I know!!!! LOL. My daughter was a little ballerina and injured herself just before going on pointe. That pretty much took care of ballet for her future. She is 22 now and we still love watching ballet together. :) She will always love pink, too.

We used BM Razzle Dazzle in 9 yo dd's turquoise and lime green room and it's great, vibrant raspberry pink, but not neon. If it's too deep, try the next one up on the fandeck, BM Pink Ladies.

I think either of them would be retro/funky classic with black and white.

beache I just looked at the Odessa Pink that acoreana linked to. I'm looking at it on my fan deck, and it is very pretty. It is a grown up pink. It is HC-59.

Benjamin Moore "Secret Rendez-Vous" was the color I used in my daughter's last BR. It would look great with black and white.

We used BM Pleasant Pink in my daughter's room. It's a fairly flexible pink. I think it could hold up to black/white.

Click on Paint Palette on the left hand side THEN choose a palette or name (like Vintage Masters for example) ---- THEN pull the paint "square" to the right hand side to allow a better look at the color ......
