Which color Silgranit sink with Zodiaq counter?

I am pretty certain we are going with Zodiaq counters in Marrone Ambrato, which is described as a "warm medium tan with charcoal veining." We will have Ikea Stat white cabinets.

I am stuck on the sink - do you think the cafe brown Silgranit would be too much "brown" tones, especially since the sink wouldn't be an exact match? Or should I go with a black sink to go with the charcoal veining in the counters? I have already ruled out a biscuit sink because of the white cabs and I don't want a white sink.

My first floor will have calm khaki and sand tones throughout but I don't want the kitchen to be too blah. I have 50 year old, yellowy oak floors, if that matters. I plan to do a glass tile mosaic backsplash to make things look snazzy. DH feels the contrast should be in the counters, not the backsplash, though.

I appreciate your input on this!

I think the black (anthracite)would look best. The brochure I have shows a Cognac coloured sink but not Cafe. If the colour you are looking at is a really close match them I would say brown, but since it isn't the black will look nice I think.

What color fixtures will you have? Sink, lights, cabinet hardware...silver tone or bronze tone? I would say black with the silver tone and cafe if you are going with bronze tones. That's how I would decide.
Although I think the cafe would look really great either way...I have black streaks running through my granite and thought I had made a mistake choosing the cafe for the same reason...too much brown, but it was the right choice :)

I'd never heard of a Karran sink before. I've learned so much here! I thought it might be hard to clean, since it's fiberglass, but the description on their website doesn't make it sound that way. I thought, from looking at the FKB, that you had Corian counter tops, but I guess note. What brand of laminate do you have? Is it the regular, thinner laminate. That's great they could do that. I looked at your pictures and it looks good to me. Is there some kind of edging applied where the laminate is cut for the sink? I was looking at the thicker laminates, in part, because I thought that they couldn't put an undermount sink in with the regular laminate. Obviously, that's not entirely true. Now I need to go do a Google search and find out what Counter-Seal is and how it works.

thanks fori... especially for saving this lead-balloon post! i mocked it up in photoshop, and i think it will work okay. still a little unsure if american cherry is a little too red. won't know until the tung oil goes on, i guess. but it's not a vintage OR modern kitchen... maybe quirky. will that suffice?

I think you could use either the silgranite or the stainless for your island. For my kitchen I chose the silgranite because I did not want to deal with possible scratches in a stainless sink. I recalled the Breezygirl on this forum has a metallic grey Silgranit prep sink in her gorgeous walnut counter. She reponds to posts on here frequently but must have missed yours. I don't think she'll mind if I post a link to her kitchen. I found this earlier thread that shows her not quite finished kitchen. If you have more questions you could put a shout out post to her. rhome, I'm starting to gravitate toward the fireclay sinks. People who have them say they feel like china and are easy to keep looking clean, and that's very appealing to me. Are you able to do a farmhouse style sink since you can't do an undermount? solferino, that is a gorgeous sink! And guess what! I love the blue. I'm planning some blue accents in my kitchen, but that blue may be too dark. But maybe not! I also saw 2 other sinks on that Whitehaus site that I really liked: the concave and the raised panel. I think that extra detail on the front gives it a bit more elegant, less country look. I just wish they were a little bigger ... they're only 27 inches wide inside. Herbeau has a similar sink that's larger but also quite a bit more expensive. Thanks so much for the suggestions! Erika
