This is a photo of my cedar fireplace, remodeled! I am not finished. I’m having an awful time deciding what to do with the hearth which is poured concrete over the old flagstone. I could: 1. Put pebble tile over the top and white wood around the sides and front. 2. Finish off the cement using A concrete level or in top (it’s not level) and Feather Finish the whole hearth. 3. Concrete levelor on top and white wooded front and sides??? I feel like the pebbles might be too much pebbles putting it on top of hearth??? If I do concrete 100% on hearth, I can use decor to pull it through the house. Maybe make a concrete planter or bowl etc. ?????? You helped me arrive at my first decision to go white. I thank you all. PS—I will be painting a Greige on the walls.

Nshepp, I originally was going with solar shades in the open concept space, but ended up having 3m film applied on those windows and doors. This would protect floors and furniture, as well as, heat in the summer months. You can’t see in during the day, but with lights on at night you can. But we have a lot of privacy anyway. I did go with dark charcoal shades in the bedrooms. I have been very happy with my decision.

do you have any more photos of your painted cedar walls? i have a cedar house as well, pan abode. I've been questioning painting the walls to brighten it up, I'd love to see more photos of your house and the painting process.
