Beautiful job! TREKaren, time to put "hangers" on your Christmas list! Or, pick a style you like that will be around for a little while, and buy yourself a batch every now and then--as a reward, or for your birthday. What a great job. And LOOK LOOK LOOK! A big stretch of empty shelf! (wanna suggestion? You know I always have them. Get at least one more, but even better two more, sweater shelves. So you can have shorter stacks. Esp. w/ those shelves, the shelf itself doesn't take up that much room. But I bet it'll be easier to maneuver your clothes, and you'll be more likely to wear the clothes at the bottom of the stack. AND get another shelf to go under that short one in the bottom picture.) As always, I'll spend your money for you, LOL! And how neat to know that Elfa has the rods now--sounds like they listened to some customer feedback! I have this wacky closet that's long and skinny, and I keep meaning to go to the Container Store or Easy Closets and get a plan from them. But, we're supposed to be moving now, so it seems an unfruitful diversion of energy. But I have vowed, wherever we end up, I want to get a good set of infrastructure in there. (And Elfa seems like it would be flexible--you could shift things around without starting completely over)

Great job! For some reason, I think another framed picture over the bed would be good, or even something round but in a similiar size in the center. And how about a nice green plant on your dresser (artificial probably best) to add height, instead of blue candle. Could you get another little bench and put the two at the foot of the bed? Not sure about a rug on top of carpet - why bother? There are so many other things to spend money on. I would instead add more rattan like your blinds and lampshades. amysrq and others~~ Thanks for suggesting the book, "Ready, Set, Sell"....I will try to find it. I did read the one something about dummy getting the house staged (or something like that)....and did found it very informative. The one "big" thing we are going to do.....that is if I get DH in the mood.....is to replace all the shiny brass fixtures/knobs/lights in the kitchen to a bronze.....and since our marble etched so badly, we are going to put on granite squares (can't see spending $$$$$$ on slabs....I don't think we can re-coop in this town....although ours is a very nice home, this town is not "up-scale"....so unless someone comes in from somewhere else (maybe California), we are going to have hard enough time finding someone who can afford it. Not much money in a military town~~~ I did get new white bedding and curtains and plan to use a pretty sage bolster pillow and throw on the bed (I know some have suggested bright colors, but wanted to keep that "serene feeling"....walls are a rather deep taupe...carpet is creme....furniture is a dark wood. I'll get a single rose to put in a little white vase and a few sage candles and call it quits for there. The MB is connected and it is painted a couple shades lighter taupe, white towels with a bit of sage and soft rose so thought I would stick to the same colors in the bedroom. I am in the process of REALLY digging...and plan to have a huge garage sale when it gets cooler.....and took sacks and sacks of clothes to Goodwill already cleaning out closets. IF we sell this house, our next one will be really down-sized from this one....and we are "over retirement" ages, so "things" just aren't too important to us anymore....been there, done that~~ Even "collections" are going....enjoyed them once, but that time is over....now it is just "clutter". I really do appreciate yours and all the others help and suggestions in this "staging" thing....as I said before, DH thinks it is "bologna". I always have been a good housekeeper (although not as much as I used to be). I had a couple realtor friends who live here in our housing development come and walk through.....they said they didn't see anything that needed to be changed....in fact, they thought I had "staged" it already~~~~ Keep thoughts coming....I really appreciate them.

Gardenwebber, that is SUCH a good point about "entertaining in their rooms". Here's a thought about your floorplan: have the kids take the back two bedrooms. Move your son to the smaller bedroom, the girls in the room with the closet. Take that wall that you guys put up and turn it into the bunk beds in separate rooms. This will give you a lot more useable floor space. Swing your youngest daughter's bed against the far wall and you will maximize the floor space there. Your son can have the lower bunk bed in his own room next door. That leaves the bedroom directly across from yours as a playroom. That also makes your own bedroom further away from the kids beds. The bunk beds are just drywalled with the mattress only on them. We have always had a rule that our kids cannot have a computer, video games or tv in their bedroom until they are 18. I do not want that stuff cluttering my downstairs living room. An upstairs space for this is the best solution. We built our current home knowing that we were going to have teens in them someday and to give them space separate from ours. Think about this solution. My husband would be happy to talk you and your husband thru the details if it is something you would be interested in. P.S. my 17y.o.'s boyfriend is coming for christmas for 17 days and there is no way in hell that she will be "entertaining" him in her bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!! Sherry
