~Moose in the Neighborhood and Animal Update in General...

Yes.

It's true.

We had a moose in the neighborhood.

A calf.

Poor guy was lost.

He must of been to be so far away from the hills.

That's him.

Through the trees.

Hiding.

The dogs started barking and he ran away.

Clumsy looking, isn't he?

He looks a little rough and thin.

We believe his mother recently kicked him off (weaned him) and is expecting another calf this spring. The deer and elk, despite the snow and cold weather, have wintered very well.

Gabby has recovered completely from her last batch of pups.

She's gained all her weight back and her coat is slick and shiny. Right now she's been temporarily banished. She STILL thinks skunks are just like the black and white kitties she plays with and stinks to high heaven. The last 'skunk attack' was at very close range. I've bathed her once but cold weather prohibits more. For now she is sleeping in the barn and is very happy.

The cats enjoyed the puppies but don't seem to miss them.

Holly is a corker and eats a lot of questionable 'things'. Calf poop is a great favorite.

*yuk*

She is learning to like her wormer though and gets it once a month.

She likes to play.

Digger is her favorite.

She also doesn't know she is little and chases cows with the big dogs.
