BM Straw - Anyone have pics?

We're having LR & DR floors refinished today and while furniture is out, would be a great time to get rid of the darkish red walls. I was thinking of some type of cream to neutralize and brighten things up, but DH thinks cream or beige might look like a "doctor's waiting room." (He loves saturated color.) We have lots of antique furniture and a lg. red background Karastan rug. Furniture will be slipcovered in either pure white or an off-white - not sure yet. So, other than lots of wood, white or off-white furniture and a red background rug, I'm starting over. I was leaning toward BM Traditional Yellow as a friend has it throughout her French Country-style home and it's so beautiful, but the gal at BM suggested "Straw" might work better with all these antiques.

Has anyone else used BM Straw? Do you have any pics? Thanks so much.

I don't have photos, but it is a beautiful color! My sister went with BM Vellum, in her home, which is very similar.

I used to have BM Straw in my kitchen. Honestly, I never really liked it. My DH hated it from the 1st day. I have York Harbor Yellow (the next one up the strip) in my dining room and like that a lot, but it is a more intense color than straw. Sorry, I do not have pictures. The kitchen was repainted (BM Baby Turtle) a few years ago.

Definitely sample it in your room. Good luck.

I don't have any of these but I have BM Mediterranean Olive. If you look at it on the strip it is so dark it almost reads black. When I put it on the wall, and especially when I turn on the accent lights it appears so much lighter. Everyone who sees it loves it and it's been on my wall longer than any other paint color! I tried to paint it Wilmington Tan to brighten it up and because I just get bored quickly, but my husband (who normally couldn't care less) said, "don't you dare!" Sorry this picture is so dark.

Thanks, Suero. Restful and serene is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm actually planning to use it in a bathroom that has gray marble and pale aqua glass border. Glad you like it in your bedroom. :)

Wow, this is fascinating to read. Oh oh re the Safari - if it reads green undertones in your room, then it will in my house no doubt. I actually decided it may be a tad darker than I want. Interesting that Straw can look mustardy at night - that would not work for me so I may have to steer clear of that too. Bookmom and others, do the lighter tones have less tendency to play green undertones than darker colours?? (seems to be the case for Bookmom's experience above) I am now opening up the possibility to lighter colours - a bit more colour than a strictly off-white but lighter than Ivoire (or other mid-range colours). But I will do anything to avoid green undertones. They are the big no-no for me!!
