Which stainless sink - Ticor, Elkay, Blanco, Franke?
Comments (23)I vote for elkay. I do not like the 'shiny' stainless that shows every scratch and 'patina.' After an extensive hunt I felt very wary of any of the newer stainless as they seemed prone to this, so I bought an elkay drainboard sink. I actually found it on CL secondhand, and it still looks the same as a new one. They are heavy duty sinks and I'm very excited about it. Comments (8)This is another brand -- a bit less expensive. I don't see anything wrong with undermounting an apron front as long as it isn't too deep to allow you to cover the front and still have room for your faucet. It does sseem a bit silly to pay for the finishing on the front and then hide it, but if it gives you what you need.... The ones with decorative fronts will be more of a problem, but a simple one might work and increase your options. You will have to make sure it can be installed with proper support too. Comments (2)"Once you pick out a kitchen sink, are you stuck with buying that same kind again if you grow to hate it?" No. Here's a leaking cracked and faded Blanco composite swapped for a Blanco stainless without changing the cut out. Yeah, the reveals are a tad off. Big deal:...See Moregeomeg
